Clavia Nord Stage 3 88

Love my Nord stage 3 . After nearly a year after it came out I decided to go for 88 key version as I have a stage 2 HA76 which I have used for many years on the road gigging 2 to 3 times a weekend and fell in love with the red beast... so when it came time to buy another I went for the 88 which I have gigged a number of times and it is a serious upgrade over the stage 2 in so many ways. Love the seamless transition between programs which is so handy for live work. It is my main keyboard in home set. The only thing I would change is the quality of the knobs as those on my stage 2 feel more solid and even after years of road work they are still as solid as day 1. I sure there is a reason for this but its a only a little thing but they felt the same on the stage 3 I would recommend the Nord...

Yamaha P-145 B

Yamaha P-145 B

After a 'break' of almost 50 years since my childhood piano-lessons, I'm taking lessons again, so I'm a beginner with some experience, and decades of a love for piano music. I chose Yamaha because of their reputation in pianos and audio, and the P-145 because it suits my needs both in terms of features as well as sound. I ordered it together with the L-100 stand (as a bundle) and the LP-5A pedal unit separately (I didn't go for the 'mega bundle' because I already have headphones, and I wanted a better quality bench). This was so completely the right decision, it is wonderful to play and it sounds really good (plus it looks great in the living room). Connecting to the Yamaha Smart Pianist app on my Pixel 7a phone via USB was easy (the app recognised the...

Clavia Nord Electro 6D 61

Clavia Nord Electro 6D 61

I bought this keyboard almost a year ago mainly for studio use. I'm a hardware guy and I'm in a process of buying all remaining hardware gear I need in order to use my PC just as a recording station. I needed a good electro-mechanical emulator, and Nord was my top choice. First, it is a high quality product, metal housing, excellent knobs and the best keybed for me so far. It's very easy to use it, it literally took me 3 hours to get used to it the day I unboxed it and today I can just confirm that it's a breeze using it. I can dial very easily anything to get the sound I'm after without any hassle. I'm used to having all knobs right in front of me without any boring meny diving and Nord is all about this philosophy. I was hesitant about the effects and was afraid if the hammond...

Kawai ES-520 W

I am so happy with this product. The keys with Responsive Hammer give you a lovely sensation as you won't stop to play it. Easy to navigate through the menu and understand how it works. Lovely and loud sound. Beautiful look. The only problem is an annoying buzz/distortion appears near the left speaker when playing the B flat note in third But the noise it doesn't come from the speaker, it comes from the casing, if you put your hand on top, the distortion doesn't appear. I recommend improving the quality of the casing. If someone can give a piece of advice to avoid the noise will be great.

Clavia Nord Grand

I hesitated a lot before buying the Grand, and could not make up my mind between the Nord Stage 3, Nord Piano 5, Nord Grand, and the Kawai NV-5 or even the NV-10. In the end, I went with the Nord Grand because after checking countless online reviews of all these pianos, I liked the sound of the Nord the most, and decided that I would need: Good keyboard action, fantastic sound, and at least some decent synth sounds. I had previously owned a Kawai MP11 SE, and also a Yahama grand piano. My verdict after receiving the Nord Grand and playing with it for three weeks: It is the only electric piano that I really enjoy playing. I usually play using studio headphones (DT770 Pro with 250 Ohms work splendidly) and much prefer the new Royal Grand 3D sound - but I knew that from listening to all the...

Kawai ES-920 W

Kawai ES-920 W

I’m possibly not the best reviewer here - as I only took up piano 1 year ago. Self taught via apps and YouTube. I started with a midi keyboard and relatively quickly invested in a €300 Yamaha keyboard So this upgrade to Kawai is a big jump for me. And some would say wasted on my limited ability. But. It is beautiful. The richness of sound brings me to tears. The feeling of the keys is completely different to my previous keyboard. The keyboard layout is super easy to navigate. And I only discovered yesterday there is a neat app to accompany the device opening up even easier navigation of all the features. The location of headphone jacks is convenient. The 40 watt speakers really deliver. The keys really respond to softness or strength of pressure. I had researched a lot of...

Roland VR-730

Roland VR-730

I play keyboards in a bluesrock combo. Mostly organ, piano, wurly, strings and a bit of synth. My setup consists of both Hammond XK1-c and Roland VR-730 and KC990. On small stages where I can only take 1 keyboard, I take the Roland VR-730. It sounds great, it feels great (marvellous keybed), seems solid enough, puts all the controls that you need during a gig right under your fingers and is easy to carry (around 10kg). It is also a great keyboard to practice at home: I select a rhythm, tap the tempo and play. Pros Quality of sounds Easy layering & splitting Easy gig-oriented interface Keybed great for organ but also very good compromise for piano & synth Weight Cons Seems to work only with EV 5 expression pedal (I want to use my FC-7 but it seems to need an adaptor to reverse polarity)

Clavia Nord Stage 3 compact

Clavia Nord Stage 3 compact

This is my first Nord, but boy it will definitely won't be my last as I'm already considering buying the Stage 3 88 for the band's studio. My previous decision was to by an electro 6D 73 to use it as a light weight bottom keyboard for pianos and organs. After more thought though I decided to upgrade to the stage 3 compact because of the electro's limitation that will require me to always have another keyboard with it. And I'm so glad that I decided to spend that extra amount on the stage 3 compact! it is still very light, the waterfall keybed offers the best compromise between the fully weighted keys and the light synth keys that you would find in most keyboards. in fact, I don't think there's any other keyboard in the market now that offers the stage 3 compact's keybed, besides...

Clavia Nord Piano 5 88

Clavia Nord Piano 5 88

I have to say that its best digit piano what i ever touched jet. Korg, Roland and Yamaha premium class pianos have to tight keys in my opinion. Roland is my second choice and allso pretty good is Yamaha GHS keys. For me its most important that key thoucht have good responce and overall feel isnt to hard, for fast and rythmical playing and good responcive sounds. I had Nord Stage 3 before, nothing bad about it but Piano 5 have even more musical (better) keyfeel for dynamic touch and you dont lose much that Stage fast playing possibility. I dint need those Stage extra, specialy synth part of it. So i recommend Nord Piano 5 any time and anywhere. My 12 points goes to Nord.

It's a fairly simple keyboard, but it does the things that matter really well. The keybed feels sturdy and is great to play, allowing for lots of expressiveness. The quality of the sound banks is high and there's a nice variety of different sounds. The connectivity is simple, but enough for recording and music production through MIDI. A few cons I've encountered after about a year of playing: - The included sustain pedal isn't great -- it doesn't allow for half-pedaling and the feel is pretty lackluster. Get the DS1-H pedal for this one, the difference is night and day. - I've managed to hit the polyphony limit a few times now when playing fast notes around the keyboard, which leads to some notes abruptly dropping out -- especially when effects and layering sounds increase the...
