Klark Teknik DN32-Live

Choose this one over X-Live because price was lower. Works as intended. 4 quality stars because mine had few not so pretty solder joints for components, but I'm sure they made good connection. I'll tell you a secret, you can use bigger memory cards than 32GB SDHC ones. Just format it same as SDHC manually to FAT32 and make sure it has Class 10 (C10) support along with faster standards (U30, V90 etc). I'm using SDXC 256GB card on mine console without any problems.

After doing a fairly rapid search for an expansion board for the X32 Compact, I came across this well priced and quality-build ADAT expansion perfect for my studio requirements (replacing a lightpiped Macke d8b was a task in itself) - seeing that the X-ADAT by Behringer was at a great price already, then stumbled across Klark Teknik's version, which basically is the same bar the manufacture print on the back plane - and after a little more reading confirmation this works in Midas M32 and Behringer X32 mixers - superb! Swapping out the X32 USB board and plugging this is is child's play (make sure you get the board to sit on the two runners at the opening for a very fast plug-n-play). Two screws on the side, pull out, push in, screw in, plug in your optical cables (check your outer plug...

I was hoping to use this card with my console for stagebox as well as for recording. It works perfect with the soundcraft stageboxes but since RJ45 or CAT5/6 is not a standard MADI connection and since Soundcrafts stagebox work differently. Instead of sending a digital madi signal it creates it's own network with the console and that's where the madi magic happens. If you're going to use this card with stagebox then it's perfect. If you'll figure out how to use it for recording please write me back. But at this time it seems to be impossible to use it for direct recording.

Our church bought one, a Madi-USB card for Soundcraft Expression 3, and it worked flawlessly. We initially set up the mixing console and the digital snake and realized that we couldn't use them unless we had the Madi-USB card. We bought one of these, and it took only 3 days to arrive from Germany. The console and the digital snake began to communicate right after the insertion and rebooting of the console. It's made of quality materials and works great.

This card is great for the waves effects, but makes your workflow a bit weird... and doesn't include the software that allows you to actually use it. I now have to set the preamps in the setup page rather than on the channels Would have been great to have 40 channels on this so that we could remap the auxes for inserts on the master channels and groups as well as the main channels Pros: Can use waves plugins on your x32 mixer (THIS IS A MASSIVE WIN!!!) Now works with studio rack Can use 24 channels for the main inputs then route the auxes to the last few card slots for main and auxes Can record and add effects from the PC at the same time Cons: Need a licence for super rack or studio rack (its not included) Need a waves server Clock source is difficult to understand... use digital in...
