Love this amp!
I've recently bought this amp and I am totally amazed. I use it with an Warwick Streamer 5 Broadneck and it sounds awesome. The amp is extremely versatile, you can reach from jazzy smooth round sounds to agresive doomish ones with a massive low end punch. This amp puts a special touch to a modern bass, so if you are into modern bass sounds with a vintage touch this might be your cup of tea
THE Beast
This is that sound you've heard for years, and this is the only way to get it. Expensive and heavy, but I'm happy with my decision. I love this amp!
A true classic?
This SVT classic will bring you a classic rock sound. It will growl and bark like you know from your favourite rock albums. Like the JCM 800 for guitars it could be considered a one trick pony but what a trick it is.
downsides:
it's not as a good as a 'real' old US blue stripe sound wise, I could not get a bad sound out of that one. This can get ... from great to ok.
It's heavy ... It has many valves (or tubes) and a massive transformer. There are more fun things to carry.
Plus:
It's a classic sound for a reason. Still works like a charm despite being 'not a US' built.
If you like the SVT sound you can't go wrong with this one.
