Deep, thick bass and snappy beater attack sound, nice controlled resonance from the built in dampening. No mucky low midrange muddiness. Stop putting hoodies/pillows/whatever in the drum and let this drum head do the work. Excellent for modern, punchy rock and pop drums. Really easy to dial in a tuning, and super fun to play. Best kick drum head on the market and will elevate your kick drum sound, whatever kit you put it on.

Very good "fat" sound

Mounted on my old 22" Pearl Export bass drum, tuned low. With the dampening ring, no need to put all the bed stuff.

I don't want to sell my old drum anymore.

However, it needs some volume to sound good, not for soft jazz.

Exchanging the original head that's been on forever might play in a bit...but it truly added a big and controlled thump to the sound...!

Want your bass drum to sound like a bass drum?

I have four accustic kits, all of which I've fitted the Aquarian Super Kick II. They bed in incredibly well and are very easy to tune - even very low. They have an integral dampening ring which seems to allow the head to resonate just the right amount. They have a nice meaty thud with just the right amount of attack. Many bass drums sound thin and trashy, but this head goes to prove the importance of picking the right skins! From my perspective it was a great find - ideal for live and studio work, and sounds great mic'ed up. I can't recommend it highly enough. I also use the 20" and 18" variants.

KickDrum Head

This is probably the better kickdrum head for my taste.

The sound is DEEP but CLEAN.

The Better is now present and Punchier.

This Head is very very strong.

i use this mainly for live situations but it gets very NICE at recordings.

Aquarian 22" Super Kick II Clear

Great fat sounding bass drum skin. Hard wearing and versatile. Gives great low end and a nice click. You may also want to look at the Super Kick I which is single ply. I find the single ply less muffled and has more tone but this is still a great skin.
