I had to order this online 'cause it wasn't easy to fin 26" drum heads in my country stores. I'm totally satisfied and compliments perfectly the sound of my Gretsch Catalina, as far as it's used for classic rock, to get some more vintage tones.

This is all I need on a kick batter, I've tried everything over the years, I generally fit a thin aquarian patch (thinner than others on the market) on the beater contact point as it will increase the attack and get my point across. The damping on these heads is just right, I only damp my 20" and 22" kicks with a small rolled up towel taped to the very bottom of the batter head and my 26" kick gets a light pillow that doesn't touch the heads at all unless absolutely necessary (and then it just presses against the batter a little.)

I switched from Evans EMAD, tried out its built-in rings to reduce unwanted overtones, using various different tricks for muting.. And somehow i was never really happy with the tone. But now, with this simple, no-frills Remo head i am more than happy: Tuned in in like 5 minutes, and sounds as a 26" bass drum should. Tremendous low end, nice punch, great sustain, no annoying overtones, loud, and yet still articulate. All this without any muting tricks and magics. Of course, tone and sound are all about personal preferences and musical environments, but for me, this change has worked out beyond my expectations. Cheers!

Remo 26" Fiberskyn 3 Medium (FA)

I bought this head for a Bonham/Buddy Rich style.Ludwig 26x14 bass drum. Not to play heavy rock or big band swing, it is for use with the National Symphony Orchestra! I needed to get both a light kick bass drum sound and a pseudo orchestral bass drum sound, and buying the Fiberskyn turned out to be the perfect solution! It sounds awesome, and with a bit of microphone help does everything required. Very impressed.
