Roland RH-200
Based on 2 reviews
I have two pairs, first I bought was much, much more expensive than today you can buy, and I am very lucky to have them. I use Roland RH-200 at on-locations recordings (mostly acoustic music concerts) and later at home to master recordings made. Pros: Sound is rich and tasty, in the same time clear so you can hear all bad things recorded. I have used other headphones too - there sound was very dry, but possibility to hear defects of recording - the same. Headphones are closed type, and really sounds from outside do not reach your ears. Cons: Althought they are over-ear, my earlobes are being pressed and after long hours of work they start to pain. And during years of using defect as cracle at some frequencies occour. I think next headphones I will buy will be the same. I have tried...
AIAIAI TMA-2 DJ
Based on 1 reviews
This is the second pair of AIAIAI DJ headphones I have bought. The first pair were stolen from a gig and I wanted the exact same ones again as I have been very happy with them. They fit tight on the head which initially is a bit uncomfortable but reassuring they will not slip when using on one ear for mixing. The sound is good - crisp with tight bass and good isolation from the room when both ears are covered. I like the design - clean lines, simple and stylish looking. The only downsides for me are that the price almost doubled since I last bought a pair which made me think twice (but went ahead in the end) and also the first pair I bought arrived with a hard case whereas now only a soft bag is provided and there doesn;t seem to be another option.
Sennheiser HD-25 Plus
Based on 26 reviews
This is my second pair of HD25's I use them for live sound engineering and in my home studio. It's a classic design as it's always been and give a honest sound with a tight bass response just like my last pair. The only thing I can see that's been added is the choice of cable curly or straight included in the box and they are slightly more pricy. These are the industry standard for most live sound engineers, cameramen and DJ's and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. You can't really add anything glad nothing has been taken away.
the t.bone HD 1800
Based on 9 reviews
Ok, so these are first impressions, I've not had them long enough for a real comfort test yet. So, the t.bone HD 1800 headphones have actually seriously surprised me. Right from the get go, the experience has been a good one. The unboxing experience was nice as the headphones where well packaged in a very nice case and there were even some other goodies to discover. The first thing that made me actually go wow was the 4m mini jack extension cable. Now, both the extension cable and the one actually connected to the headphones both look like very good quality cable that should last well with rugged use. But what really made me happy was the addition of a little clip on the extension cable that will securely connect both cables and reduce the chance of accidental disconnection. Such a small...
Sennheiser HD-25

originally got these strictly for Dj'ing. Been using them for almost a year for that. Never listened to music on them really. They are great DJ headphones. After getting the urge to upgrade my headphones from my long time mdr7506's (over 15 years) to something more...…...punchy......I actually listened to some music on the hd25s with a critical ear and was surprised at the frequency response. I do like the bump on the mid lows especially since if you are listening to material with an extended bottom end these headphones will come to life. Great for doing referencing. Surprisingly after going out to listen to a few other closed headphones in the $100 to $250 range...…... Beyers: too dang bright but so pretty n comfortable ATH: muddy low end, might as well stick with my...
Audio-Technica ATH-M40X
Based on 125 reviews
I?ve ordered 3 of these to be used in my recording studio as monitoring headphones for musicians. Inicialy i was considering the ATH-M50 (the non X version) wich i already own a pair an absolutely love the sound but i?ve decided to give the M40's a try after reading some positive reviews, keeping in mind that i could always send them back and get the M50's instead. After sometime comparing the two and other headphones i have, (various models from AKG) I decided to keep them because i found them to be perfect for the task, this is why: Great detailed reproduction over all frequency content with smooth clear higs and full deep lows without being overwhelming. A bass player will be very happy as all the others. Very confortable to be used over a long periode of time, physicaly or...
AKG K-182
Based on 19 reviews
Pretty flat frequency response. Good reference headphones for monitoring, composing or mixing. I'm no DJ so I can't say if they will be loud enough to use in a club. They are foldable and come with a velvet bag. Cable is detachable but is 3 meters long, so not the best for using on portable players or something like that. You can get shorter cables for cheap on eBay though, so that's alright, but I just wish AKG would include a shorter cable in the box along with the long cable. I wasn't expecting to like the sound of these headphones so much to be honest: I'm not the biggest fan of AKG sound signature in general. I got them in a bundle and was planning on giving them away to someone else at first, but after trying them I honestly like them very much. All frequencies are just right...
Fun Generation HP 5

Excellent sound isolation. The 3.5mm TRS audio jack comes with a locking screw adapter to 6.3 mm a which is a really nice touch. I use these headphone as monitor headphones for guests speakers in a portable podcast studio. The ear covers are finished in soft leatherette and are easy to clean. I dropped the comfort a bit because your ears can get a bit warm in there. I didn't have a lot of money to spend on kit for my podcast studio. Yet these headphones, while low cost, offer a really good quality audio experience, so GREAT VALUE overall.
Sennheiser HD-25 Light New Version
Based on 2 reviews
I have been using the more expensive HD25 headphones for 20 years and rate their sound and build quality, when I saw the light version was available now i bought a pair for my daughter to listen to music and also for monitoring purposes on her pc, then I got a pair for my partner as she needed some decent headphones for her computer for too. The sound is pretty much identical to my more expensive HD25's and I haven't heard better headphones at this price. The build quality seems good as we haven't had any breakages yet, and as far as I know all parts are repaceable if anything does break. The sound is amazing and well balanced, bass is exceptional and volume more than adequate.
