Brilliant mixer
The mixer Behringer DDM4000 is an amazing choice for novice dj's and amateur music producers. It has all the features one might want to mix (bpm match, sampling, effects, etc.), many channels and really good quality. I am using the mixer not only to dj but also to accommodate some amateur music production tasks. Really good choice and amazing value/price ratio.
It does the job
It is not a high end product so i don't think any professionals will use it.
That been said it will work just fine for everything else,
I tested it as a controller on Traktor pro 3 , it works fine.
The dsp inside it does wonders for beginners who just want to ad some subs and an amp to their systems , it has high pass and low pass for that mono sub out .
As a dj mixer it is ok but it will take some time to get used to that effects sections and even more time to get used to that samples section. Crossfader is important for scratch dj's and on this mixer you can easily swap it for a better one.
I recommend this mixer for any beginner dj's ,beginner or intermediary Pa speakers owners , small pubs, or pretty much to anyone in sound business who just want something versatile that those the job with an OK quality.
Fantastic Mixer!
I can't express how much I love this thing. Insane amount of features and superb sound quality. Very easy to use and it's built like a tank.
Well worth every penny. Behringer stikes again!
I <3 Behringer!
grand for the money
not so rider friendly with snobby DJ's but its works perfect and has plenty of good effects and i/o options
Good value for money
The best 4 channel mixer under 400 EUR. The built-in crossover and limiter is very useful.
Now I remember why pros don't like behringer
What a load of rubbish this was.
Bought for mobile discos with the view to midi connect it to traktor. That worked but was over complicated to use at real gigs, so we fell back to using timecode.
Lots of bells & whistles for not much cash, but too many gadgets hidden down menus we found difficult to use. I know pioneer have millions of menus on their kit too, but realistically DJs just want the thing to control the volume and offer some basic gizmos to cover up poor mixes.
Eventually this needed sending back to Germany as it kept cutting out so I bought a Pioneer DJM250 to get by and found it easier to use, less to go wrong!
When returned it continued to cut out randomly. I couldn't even sell it second hand so resorted to giving it away to a bedroom DJ.
Best mixer for the price
I have this mixer for about 6 years, I've made a lot of live performances with it.
If you're looking for the best price for the value, and if you will use for personal use, you should get this one.
Pros:
- A lot of buitl in FX's with 2 FX modules (personally I love all of them)
- Really configurable, even the side-chain of the microphone can be configurable plus a dedicated FX for it can be assigned
- MIDI in almost all buttons, so you can control any MIDI capable SW
- Really easy to use after some time, because the learning curve is different from the Pioneer mixers (yes mostly because we are used to them)
- The price is a must
- It terms of functionalities you will not get disappointed. Pioneer took 4 years longer to be at the same stage of this mixer in terms of FX and functionality.
- Up to 4 user presets for different users, you don't want to configure it to your needs every time you will perform
Cons:
- If this desk is for club use, don't get it. Most of the Dj's are not careful with the gear. The rotary buttons, they can be taken with relative ease and the fades can break with the excess of use.
- For time to time, when I start up the mixer, all the lights of the mixer turn on and freezes. The workaround is to perform an electrical reboot.
- It happened to me once, the mixer to be frozen in the midle of a show
3 years later
Despite mixed reports about this mixer . I have had only a good experience with this product , reasonably good build quality and features vs the price of purchase .
Would recommend .
Gigging This weekly
I bought this as I wanted to have a few basic effects and other niceties. The built in crossover for subwoofers is excellent too. the filters and eq's and kill buttons are all solid work horse effects, i rarely use the sampler.
The mixer can be used as a midi controller but I dont use it that way. the Mic pre is great and the monitor section is also great. I dont use the cross fader, but have tried it out and it works as it should. If you're a gigging DJ this will earn its keep within minutes. Bedroom DJ's will knock mileage out of it too and at half the price of the P..neer. Also this is built solidly, and includes rack ears to flight case it up.
Absolutely amazing mixer at a great price,
I bought this mixer as an upgrade from the basic 2 Channel mixer I already owned, the main reason I bought this mixer was due to it being a quarter the price of other mixers similar to it. I love the 2 effects sections which makes layering effects so much more fun and creative. It came with a traktor demo which I never used, I prefer the standard setup of cdjs and mixer, I also like that all the effects were customisable. Though the mixer looked a bit complicated and frightening at first glance, I quickly got used to the features and layout after an hour, I don't really like how light the faders feel, there unbelievably light compared to the pioneer range, but givin the price difference I can look over that, the only thing the ddm 4000 is missing for me is a send/return which means its only possible to hook up extremely effects processors through the master output and doesn't give you the option to use them
On different channels. But overall I would recommend this product, specially for anyone on a budget!
