MS-1
One of the best analog synthesizers i used .I Just newly have it and I think I will daily use the MS-1 from behringer.
My 1st synth
This synth is doing a fine job of what it is supposed to do, Bass, Lead, Perc, FX - an all in one monophonic beast!
The MS1/101 is a very simple synth with useful yet straightforward sequencer and arp.
Best for beginners (especially if you just into synthesis) and also for experts who will - for sure - take some fems out of this beautiful replica
Good quilty, Great sound! You will enjoy it!
Excellent Synth.
I bought this synth with not much expectations, and I was surprised how great it sounds! And I do not mean just as an SH-101 clone. Behringer added 2 controls for the FM manipulation of the filter frequency, pushing the, already dirty, sound of the original to the extreme! The "reese" style baselines you can get out of this thing are extremely fat and gritty!!!
The rest of the synth sounds like what you'd expect from an SH-101 clone. The filter is juicy and you can get expect to get all these beautiful resonances, that made the original popular.
Another great feature is the sequencer, which provides more options and flexibility than the OG. There's also a velocity adjustable "accent" which offers another degree of expression.
My only concern is that the fader shafts on the chasis, have no dust protection film (you can practically see the board inside), so you might have dust settling in! My suggestion is to always cover the unit when you do not use it.
All and all, the MS-1 has grown on me, and although it doesn't have a tone of parameters, you can get great sounds out of it, very easily.
Love it!
Has exactly the same feel and 99% of the same sound as the SH-101. I love the way it sounds in my productions and the colours also. Its heavy and is physically of good quality.
One major negative point is that the firmware is not good. The built-in sequencer has many bugs and Behringer has not released an update yet.
Amazing Synth
Sounds very close to the original and has a bunch more features for 1/4 of the price.
I use it mainly as a bass synth and it does the job perfectly.
The FM oscillator is a very cool bonus that can bring it to another world of sounds.
After 6 months I still haven't had any problems, it's a very stable machine.
Amazing product especially for the price.
I always wanted an sh101.
It sounds very good and has the character of an sh101(the purists and the collectors will always disagree)
The build quality is very good, the keyboard has a nice feel. The faders are sturdy and playable. The sequencer is fun to play even tho it involves learning a few key combinations.
Now there are a few things that are not working as in the original and
I hope behringer will implement via firmware updates. These are, the sloppy glide , unproper tying of notes , no way to sync lfo to seq speed, chaining patterns to get more steps(original had 100 steps while the ms has only 32).
They already fixed a few things with ''unusual behavior'' so i hope they will continue to improve their great product
i use ms-1 to my home studio
this is analog beast
behringer = value for money
the quality looks good and behringer updates firmware
the manual is poor but you can find a lot of informations in rolands manual how to create sounds.
if you dont want to stay home for next few months you should not buy this machine.
Behringer MS-1-BL means inspiration. so be careful !!!
Amazing synth, especially for the money
Awesome analogue mono synth, which gives a great introduction to synthesis at a ridiculously low price point. Does it sound like the SH-101, after which this takes its name? It is close enough to get people excited and it will certainly give you access to the 80's synth and techno sounds, if that is what you are after. Fat bass and pluck sounds come easy to this, but add a reverb or delay pedal and flick to a mid range octave, and you have a great lead mono synth on your hands too. In short, great tone and function (and build quality actually) from this super affordable synth. I have the Model D and Deepmind 6 too -Behringer rule.
Well done
Hardly notice a difference with the original 101, especially once you put it in the mix. Build feels great, going to get a lot of use out of it.
Love it!
Safe,reiiable,so professional.....just EXCELLENT!
