So much fun

There is so much going on in this synth. It takes a lot to learn how to use it but great once you get the hang of it

Wonderful clone

It is the opportunity to have an identical Roland SH-101 (including the strap to hang it!) plus arpeggiator and sequencer. It's great that Behringer makes legendary synth clones that are impossible to get today, at a fair price.

For that less money , you will get a very fine mini-synth , look great , souns perfect , so I'll give 5 stars !

great sounding synth

hard to get a bad sound out of it. I had issues with the MIDI side of things. hopefully Behringer is working on that.

Well it's just as I remember back in 1983

My first synth back in 1983 was a Roland SH101. I bought this with a certain amount of nostalgia a few weeks ago. I'm staggered. It's exactly how I remember it but it has a couple of modern twists. USB midi and the extended sequencer. I love it so much I've just ordered a Behringer Odyssey. Can't wait for it to arrive.

Behringer know which buttons to push

I cannot compare the synth to it's original, and I honestly do not think this is of any use either. Howver I can say that this syntheszier is amazing for the price tag it has.

It sounds great, has all the expected features, and is well crafted.

You truly notice that this is a device that was designed, and produced, with love from the team at behringer.

The downsides have been mentioned by many people before, being the lack of battery port while they do add the handle and belt for portability, but I think seeing the weight it has this is useless anyway. Secondly I did have some MIDI issues initialyl but these got resolved with a firmware update.

Overall this is probably one of the cheapest full fledged monophonic synths out there, and it is definetely not the worst! From solid leads, basslines and even acid squelching and chirping, it can bring it all.

For the price I think it is a no brainer not to try it.

May not be exactly like Roland but in some ways better and brought into the future!

A 101 on steroids

I bought this as like many I've always wanted a an SH-101 but the vintage synth collectors have ruined it for the musicians,

the sound is pretty close to a real 101, the resonance goes slightly higher on the original but nonetheless the MS-1 does squelch as supposed. the FM feature is great for breaks and adds another dimension of sound to the synth, the value is quite sensitive so look to play around with the dial to get the most out of this feature.

sequencer and save features are great, also able to trigger the sequencer with your drum machine

all in all, you can't go wrong for the price, truly great addition to your synthesizer militia!

Nice and cheap

I was nicely surprised from this synthesizer, it has a very simple and intuitive interface and compared to the original sh101, adds also another triangle waveform, that can always be useful.

Powerful output and strong sub oscillator.

Overall good value for money
