Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD Reviews
Very easy and functional device
The device has very good quality. Recorded tracks are having no noise at all.
Operating the device is very easy. And very easy to set it up with your computer. I use Adobe Audition.
Very low latency when you use it to record guitar; only the slightest bit more when you record voice, but that could have to do with a variety of other factors. What matters is you get quality recordings with strong, transparent sound.
Excellent, solid build. The casing looks like it could take a hit (but I'm not going to test that, for obvious reasons!) and the same attention to detail and quality material is evident throughout. I would buy this again if I had to, no hesitation.
Great for a beginner home studio.
Bought this to use it with elctric guitars. The overall quality of the product is great, but lack o support from behringer.
Pros:
Free DAW software from 'their' site
Midas preamps
line and instrument switches
Very sturdy and well built
Feels like a tank looks like a Mercedes
Direct monitoring
Good knobs that dont wooble around.
Cons:
Drivers need to be dowloaded from the site, Windows 10 didnt install them.
I would recomend this to anyone, its good and cheap, wont find anything better to start with.
A good job
I am no producer but to keep track of your evolution in the rehersal room, it seriously does its job!We all know what Behringer stands for...cheap electronics...this time though, nailed it.Very easy to use, captures many frequencies very clearly and overall has a good volume. To record all the jams with awesome riffs that you?ll forget in 30 seconds combine it to a relatively good microphone and there you have it!
One of the best for a home studio
I am using the UMC202HD for my home studio, and using it with Reaper software. It is my first USB interface and I learn how to use it in one day by watching tutorials on youtube. I bought is on sales with a big price cut so I don't know if there are some usb audio cards in the same price as good.
Cheap interface for limited usage
Bought this for a temporary solution, it did its job well enough but everything about it says "cheapest you can get". Wouldn't probably last very long doing shows. I was more than happy to get rid of it when I came across what I was originally looking for.
Liked: Enough connections for its price. Drivers are ok. Speaker outputs sounded ok through a PA system.
Didn't like: Makes snaps and pops when powering on. Very plastic knobs and connectors. Hissy headphone amp.
Works with iPad
Am using this unit with iPad Pro using Live:Air video switcher. It works flawless.
Fantastic
I use it for recording my zoom g3x, J Station and as an interface for revalver.
It has all the features you need.
Dual purpose inputs for 1/4 jack and mic.
Direct monitor.
Clip light.
Pad function.
Sounds great, better than my uca222 and the usb out on my zoom.
And latency is no longer an issue for me, I tried the alesis guitar link and I always had latency issues with it.
super device for an amazing price
this is what you need for your studio. professional level jacks, direct monitoring - connect to computer and go!
also has all the knobs and lights you'll need on the front panel (pad, instrument, clip and more).
well done behringer. super protected also great for travel and the right size!
A great starter or portable interface.
I've owned several of the Behringer U-Phoria series, and I recommend this model highly. Having two combination XLR and Jack inputs on the front, as opposed to the Combi and jack instrument input on the UM2 and the UMC22, is great for portable recordings, considering only a slight size increase. The pre-amps are gorgeous being MIDAS transformer-less, especially considering the price. The headphone pre-amp can be a little noisy, but the TRS outputs have no problems in any configuration. The phantom power switch is a little annoying being on the back, but manageable.
great features for the price
Input and output 192KHz/24bit.
Can drive the beyer dt880 250? (but not vey loud)
With 32 ? and 55 ? headphones it can get very loud.
Build quality is very good but does have small issues (e.g. one potensiometer is a lot looser than the rest).
Behringer site has the drivers that work good. the rest of the software can be outdated.
Linear frequency response
Some latency when monitoring with the effects from the DAW
Note: my feedback is based using this interface only with a bass guitar, so no microphone input review.
best interface for the price!
So, I've been using this little guy for a few months now and i have to admit, i wasn't expecting it to be that good! It is built like a tank and you don't have to worry about taking it with you on tour or traveling. The knobs and the buttons are pretty solid, and the fact that it has zero latency monitoring, 48 volts od phantom power and that it can be used as a sound card has helped me a lot and improved my sound! The only down side is that it would be very helpful and a great improvement if behringer added rca outputs as well as midi inputs.
To sum up, this is by far the best bang for the buck for what it can do! if you have 66 euros and need a cheap but high quality interface and sound card, i highly suggest you to invest in this product!
Good thing I bought it
I was having lots of doubts, should I buy the behringer interface or a more popular and expensive one. I took a chance on it and don't regret it at all.
I very much like the sound, its well built, and has some functions that you only get on much more expensive AIs.
Great product at a fraction of the price. Way to go behringer, stepping up your game.
Great beginner USB interface
The build is solid. Audio quality is nice. For the price it's worth it.
Does what it's supposed to.
Easy installation and everything worked as expected. I had a little trouble getting the levels right in terms of the 'pad' switch and input gains, moreso than on other units I have owned, but this was easily learned. Some nice plugins from the Behringer website, too. Documentation could possibly be a little better. Generally great, though, especially for the price.
Not bad but the quality is must be better
Everything is fine, exept the line in quality. The anps is too noisy to me. My old pci M-audio soundcard makes more quality record.
By the way the build and services are excellent.
Better than Scarlett
You pay only 66 euro, but you get a quality whis is worth about 200 euro. I tried Scarlett 2i2 2nd gen and this one Behringer is far better because of its stable drivers, handling convenience and really simple usage. If you look for high-quality recording hardware, but you're on a tight budget - this one os your best option!
Value for the price
I've tried record acoustic guitar on 88,2 kHz with Behringer B-1 microphone, and a result is good. Recommend!
Good racio cost/benefit
It is a good quality product, the sound is perfect, has a good ratio cost/benefit, and the finish is a strong metal box.
I use it for record my guitar amp and have nothing to complain about it. For the price I do not find any bad points.
You have to be careful about one thing. If the product falls on the floor it can be expensive. Get the floor fixed.
Value for the price.
This product is good as per its value. Sure thing that it can't be compared to a Roland or similar expensive product which are twice costly. Anyway, I used both and as per my requirement , this product works great. Surely recommended.
