Behringer UV300 Ultra Vibrato Reviews
Greatest value for money ever. If you don't mind the plastic the sound is great. It's supposed to be a clone of the famous boss one, I haven't compared them, but really satisfied with the way the pedal sounds.
Great Pedal for the prize
Great circuit for very little money, worth it!
Another outstanding
Effects pedal.
I can’t fault it for the money.
We don’t play live so don’t jump on it hard.
Even if it was stomped on hard it would still sound really good.
My one after a size 13 Dr Martin boot crashed down on it Still works perfectly.😎
I really struggle with the plastic
I have two Behringer pedals and just wish they weren't made from that plastic. They feel incredibly cheap (which they are). The sound from both is great. They are part of a set of 9 pedals I use for utilising the individual outs from a drum machine. I use the Ultra Vibrato with a mono synth and it's great. A feel of quality is often important to me as an artist, as it enhances the artistic process and experience, however the most important factor is the sound.
Cons - Unfortunately the jack connector is loose with a 1/8th to 1/4 inch jack I'm using to connect the external outs from the drum machine, and the cable very easily pops out if touched lightly. The same cable has no problem with the TC electronic pedals I'm running other drum sounds through.
Great Vibrato
If you're looking for an affordable version of the Boss VB-2 then you have come to the right place! It sounds exactly like the Boss version it's modeled after. Aside from the plastic enclosure, there's really no cons. However, at this price just buy a couple to have a backup!
Brilliant pedal. Very subtle. Very useful. Get one
cool pedal
Great vibrato pedal but its going back because I meant to order a tremolo pedal!!! my bad oops. I love behringer pedals though
Excellent for the price
Sounds great, authentic and very much like the Boss pedal it's allegedly based on. The pedal is a bit plastic feeling, but for this price, one can hardly complain, especially when it sounds that good!
Plastic
Sounds amazing but its made of plastic and it will brake
Ridiculous price for some great sounds, enclosure is it's weak point
I wanted a vibrato for a while, my dream was a Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl but the price on that is (while probably justified) just too high.
The Boss VB-2w is a little lower but still on the high side for my sporadic use of the effect.
I then saw a video on the JHS youtube channel where the old original Boss vibrato was compared to the behringer because they have the EXACT same schematic and sounded EXACTLY the same.
And it does sound amazing !
I did mod the effect to have a lower rate (google it).
It still is a Behringer and therefor a plastic housing that's not properly shielded, therefor the noisefloor is not as low as a Boss for example, but on clean tones it basically isn't noticeable.
A welcome addition to the kit
I'll say it again ? it does what it is supposed to! And at this price (a fraction of the currently available Boss VB-2W), it is worth getting if only to find out what this effect could do for your setup.
This has proven quite useful to me when kept immediately before all other effects. Does not hurt to turn it on once in a while to hear what it does to the rest of the chain, as it didn't add any terrible amount of noise (not enough to notice, that is). For example, it adds a chorus-like edge to any distorted/fuzz tones, and any type of delay becomes 'modulated' without actually using a mode with that name.
Using the 'unlatch' mode on a regular basis is likely not to be recommended, though, considering the plastic enclosure and the microswitch that is inside (and that, in turn, renders the 'rise' knob completely useless). This is definitely all a different story on the Boss that supposedly inspired this pedal.
Beware that the rate knob at its minimum setting is not very slow. But that is to be expected from an analog effect (from what I understand about them, anyway). Therefore, if you're looking to emulate shoegaze-type whammy chords (without an actual whammy bar), you're much better off looking at digital solutions.
Wobley
Does what it is supposed to do.
Nice to have the mode options.
Low cost, slightly noisy, put in a separate loop to mitigate.
The Behringer UV300 is a very cheap vibrato, that is often compared to the classic Boss VB-2 pedal. As the Boss is not produced any more, it got terribly expensive everywhere. Whereas the Behringer is the cheapest pedal I have ever bought. According to that my expectations were very low.
Unfortunately the pedal could not surprise me. The sound is not bad in general and comes close to the Boss (as far as I can judge from sound samples), but it is too noisy for me. No wonder, as it is made of plastic with no shielding.
Otherwise the features are pretty nice, so if you don't care about a bit noise you can get some really funny sounds on the cheap.
Absolutely hilarious!
This is a pedal for having a laugh with! Or being serious: possible to create a cool sound or make it ridiculous! :-) Me like! Most likely will buy a second one just in case! Only three stars for quality comes from the housing being plastic.
