Amazing bang for your buck!

This is a very capable little mixer, you have a fantastic selection of effects, a good interface, lots of great features. I've mixed bands outside, churches and other stuff with this. Never had an issue, always sounds great!

Brilliant Kit

Love this unit. I purchased as I had sold my small desk to upgrade to a Midas M32, but I was left only with that & other large consoles. I needed something for small concerts, corporates etc. This unit is fantastic. 8 XLRs with phantom power & they double as jack inputs too. 8 TRS line level jack inputs with Jacks 7/8 rated to High impedance for direct input of electric guitars. The best feature on this unit is the fact that all outputs (Aux1-4 & L/R) can have a full 31 band GEQ inserted as part of the EQ section thus saving your 4 available FX racks for the stellar array of built in FX. Although Midas only make a M12 & M18 version, their X-air software runs perfectly on the XR16 & as a more pleasing colour pallet. Download the free apps to have a go at the software first. You will LOVE it. By the way, the unit ways nothing & I recommend the Gator G-Mixerbag-1306 also.

great product but could do with a little fine tuning

really nice however sometimes can be slightly laggy in responding but generally a great design. the effects once you've worked out how to use them are amazing however do take a while to get to grips with. That said the software is really straight forward and easy to use. The only things I would add is the capability to A the capability to plug headphones in to the Ipad and hear what was coming out of the speakers for finer tuning and also being able to play music from the Ipad to the board and out of the speakers.

I use this for anything from conferences to 6 piece bands. this is such a versatile and effective product and I'd highly recommend.

A little star

Replaced my years old and failing Yamaha EMS 5000-12 with this unit and am heartily impressed.

Such a small form factor with so many tools on board.

Being able to set up different mixers for different shows on the App is ideal.

The unit itself is a tough little box, I have flight cased it myself, but only because I like my toys to stay shiny. The rubber bumpers that come preinstalled, are more than adequate to keep the stage box in order.

Sound is crisp and clear, and matched with the Turbosound iP1000's is resonant and rich as well.

Everything seems sturdily built and the on board effects unit is ideal, not only for vocals, but for a variety of DI instruments as well.

I am more than impressed with the XR16 and would heartily recommend it to anyone wanting a 16 channel stage box/digital mixer.

Maybe another 2 Aux outs would have been useful as would full 16 channel recording instead of just stereo. But these are available on the bigger models I guess, they just weren't within my budget this time.

Everything else gets 5 stars from me, and you can even get feedback destroyers on the third party mixer app available!!

Great little piece of stage equipment

Great price to features ratio. Easy installation and connection to PC + Android device. Control app with anything you may need on small events. Useful USB playback and recording.

Brilliant!!

I'm very pleased with this console. Works just great and it was also very easy to learn and understand. I have only used it with a android tablet, works perfectly! I fitted mine in rackcase, takes 3 units. You may want to use an external router for wider range, but the internal access point works great too, in my case, I haven't had any problems. I have used it to mix a bigger band too. used a 8ch mic preamp, connected the preamp line outs to xr16 channes 9-16 and I had enough channels to add a complete drumset. If you need i small digital mixer, and you want to mix on stage, this is it!

The only "bad" thing is, that it doesn't have an audio interface built in. It would be nice to multitrack record your live performace sometimes. If you think it's a must, maybe the xr18 would be your choice.

But for this price, I think it's absolutely amazing! Highly reccommend!

Very great overall!

This is a great product for F.O.H technicians and live show performers. It records 2-channels to USB-stick whatever 2-channels you want. It has clear sound quality due to Midas PreAmps and has solid 8 XLR/jack ports and 8 jack ports. The only big drawback is that it does not have multitrack recording and USB to computer option for recording. Easy to set up and handle, small size and many possibilities are the key words to this product!

A revolution for small bands

Forget analogues mixers, choose a Behringer X Air mixer.

But don?t trust the built in access point, connect an external Wi-Fi router.

Nice sound quality and easy remote control via tablet og iPad.

Such a small bundle with such a large potential

I've been waiting for Behringer to release this product since it was anounced last year. I own an X32 and digital snake so I know how good Behringer can be these days. This unit has a cut-down version of the X32 software in it and just sits on the stage like a stage box so no wires, no sound operator position. Great for gigs in small places.

I'm old-school so I like a desk with a big control surface so the concept of running the whole show from an iPad is a bit alien to me but for the amount of functionality in such a small package I don't think it can be beaten. The free app from Behringer is smart and easy to use. I'd quite like it if I could play songs from my iTunes library over the WiFi and out of the X16 but that does not seem possible.

Plugged it in, followed the easy "Quick start" guide and was up and running in minutes.

If I had the cash, I'd have probably gone for the XR18 as it has all XLR inputs (this one has 8 x XLR and 8 x 1/4" which is frustrating when a gig that needs 10 mics (I have to bring the X32 out).

For the price, this is an amazing piece of kit.
