Behringer Xenyx X1204 USB Reviews
Versatile little mixer
I bought this to replace a mixer whose power supply was broken and difficult to replace. Great choice. I use the USB direct to my amp which alows me to pre-listen to tracks via my headphone port. I've used it to record using a DAW with an excellent quality 24 bit recording. The compressor is invaluable in protect my PA from raucous karaoke singers. All in all, for the money a fantastic buy. The only thing I would change is a bit more variety on the DSP.
nice features but I need more EQ options
I'm using this mixer in live situations of 2-3 people in small bars and cafes. It does the job very well for the price. The control room features are very nice to have and help me a lot even though when I bought it I didn't think much about them. The same applies to the 3-4 outs, which turned out to be very useful when I needed weird routing of the outputs. The AUX out with pre-fade switch is a great tool for creating a monitor mix. The low-cut is another nice thing to have
Now the negatives.
I really miss having a knob for setting the middle EQ frequency. Sometimes I can't fix muddiness problems in vocals or harsh instruments because of this.
Another thing missing is the ability to EQ the FX, because the built-in hall reverb I'm using sometimes produces long reverberation on some frequencies that need taming, but I don't want to lower all of the effect.
Finally, I would like to be able to have more control over the compressor, because sometimes I need to lower the threshold without raising the volume as much as it does. Sometimes you have a quiet player who needs a lot of compression in order to sound steady, but then you have to turn the gain really low.
I have also used this mixer as an audio interface to record and mix songs at home. When I bought it I wanted one single device to do both things (live music and audio interface). The sound is okay I guess, but you can get much more clarity from a 24-bit audio interface like the UMC HD series.
Overall, If I was buying now, I would go for a digital mixer because it would give me more control over each channel, mainly more EQ options on each channel, the FX, and the master out.
good for price
for my first mixer its decent for the price, good quality even tough it was built in china, so far am satisfied with it.
Xenyx X1204 USB
Mixer worth the money. Great sound quality and ease of use. The USB port gives a high quality recording to a PC. Next year I plan to buy Behringer SX2442FX or similar. I think Behringer Xenyx X1204 USB is a good for start. Thanks Behringer !
always performed well
needed reliable mixer for small karaoke show ,never had a problem ,good size and good fx.
Die Klangqualität ist perfekt, viele Effekte, schlank, geringes Gewicht. Das Preis / Leistungsverhältnis ist perfekt.
an ideal mixer for home recordings
value fot money
Great mixer for home studio or live gigs. Sound effects work great and after two years of use , has zero problems. Overall is a great piece of equipment and great value for money!
Overall is good
For this price you get a mixer and a sound interface which is really cheap.
The Fx sounds are good not amazing but it does the work for me while I am playing the saxophone at live gigs.
The handling of the mixer while recording is quite irritating that you have to press the red buttons to record and then press the other one to listen.
Eq is just ok.
Overall is compact easy to use and carry to gigs and also have it on your desk as a studio (practise) audio interface.
Useful and easy to handle!
... is a classic mixer, very useful and easy to handle. The effects processor is doing his job honestly. Very good price / quality ratio.
Good deal
It is a good deal, strong build and really efficient.
Pretty good mixing desk/audio interface
The only fault I can find is that it only has 2 channels out as a digital interface. More would be very useful and seeing as it already has main out, alt out and monitor out it seems strange that Behringer decided not to make them assignable in your DAW.
A recommander!
Super table de mixage de qualité, je l'ai utilisé pendant plus de deux ans et vraiment très fiable et très complète pour son prix, à recommander :)
works like a dream.
has been used like a work horse for the last 5 years, fantastic value for the price i paid.
Good mixer
I bought the mixer for some home recording. It is very handy. Three knobs of frequencies adjustments give you a good clear sound ( I mean for the price you pay for the mixer the sound is all right ). Build in effects are nice and in case you need to change the time of echo there is a button "Tap". The minus of the mixer is: when you press the button "Mute the channel" instead of redirecting the sound to the sub group Alt 3/4 it still sends about 10% of the sound to the main outputs when the sound should be only on the Alt 3/4 outputs.
Great general purpose mixer
I am using this in my small studio and as a live mixer for an acoustic band, It performs extremely well and copes with every eventuality. It is very easy to use, very well built, compact and very well priced. I highly recommend it.
Very good for the price
Does well in our band practice, works well with Samson active speakers. Easy to use and multiple features for the price, great connections - could not be happier for what I paid and expect to have many years of good times with this.
Behringer Xenyx
This mixer is absolutely incredible. each channel is lovely and clear and the phantom power is a good feature. The digital effects are very very good and can be set up stereo with a tap tempo feature. The build quality is solid and tidy and everything can be easily accessed.
The mixer comes with a uSB interface feature so one can record beautiful live sound also. The colours and lights built on the board are attractive and it's very easy to use.
It's great to have the choice of channels at such fantastic prices, there aren't any mixers that could anyway compete with this range.
I would highly recommend it!
very good mixer
for a very good price! easy to use, effects sound nice and fits great with Pa speaker from Behringer. great value for the money!
Amazing sound and Value
I bought this desk for acoustic solo gigs. Great features and superb sound quality. Excellent Value for money. The USB output is a great way to record my gigs and rehearsals. Small, compact size and a very sturdy design. 5 star all the way.
