Xenyx X1204 USB

Mixer worth the money. Great sound quality and ease of use. The USB port gives a high quality recording to a PC. Next year I plan to buy Behringer SX2442FX or similar. I think Behringer Xenyx X1204 USB is a good for start. Thanks Behringer !

Great general purpose mixer

I am using this in my small studio and as a live mixer for an acoustic band, It performs extremely well and copes with every eventuality. It is very easy to use, very well built, compact and very well priced. I highly recommend it.

Very good for the price

Does well in our band practice, works well with Samson active speakers. Easy to use and multiple features for the price, great connections - could not be happier for what I paid and expect to have many years of good times with this.

Behringer Xenyx

This mixer is absolutely incredible. each channel is lovely and clear and the phantom power is a good feature. The digital effects are very very good and can be set up stereo with a tap tempo feature. The build quality is solid and tidy and everything can be easily accessed.

The mixer comes with a uSB interface feature so one can record beautiful live sound also. The colours and lights built on the board are attractive and it's very easy to use.

It's great to have the choice of channels at such fantastic prices, there aren't any mixers that could anyway compete with this range.

I would highly recommend it!

I bought this desk for acoustic solo gigs. Great features and superb sound quality. Excellent Value for money. The USB output is a great way to record my gigs and rehearsals. Small, compact size and a very sturdy design. 5 star all the way.

Brilliant desk for the money

Knobs/ sliders work well. FX patches are more than adequate.

Plenty of output options for main/secondary/control room, RCA/tape. Sound is phenomenal when input from laptop/DAW thru USB!

So much for a reasonable amount of money. Don't think I would upgrade it until I was spending £2k on Allen & Heath and then may wonder if it was any better.

Behringer Xenyx X1204 USB

I bought the Behringer Xenyx X1204 USB as an upgrade from my Behringer 1202fx. One of the first things that makes it better is the power input. The 1202fx had a multipin, low voltage connection for power that seemed very fragile. The X1204 has an IEC style connection, which straight away makes it feel more robust.

One of the features that were really impressive with the X1204 are the compressors on each of the XLR mic channels. These are really useful for instrument mics, especially for me as I play in a pub/bar band and we often mic the kick drum as well as the vocals, to give the sound more punch. The on board FX are really nice for vocals and have a range of reverbs and delays to suit all situations. Having a separate aux send for on-stage monitors was is also a great feature for such a small format mixer, especially for bands and singers.

The overall build quality of the mixer is very nice, with smooth fader movements, colour coding on control sections for "at a glance" alteration and having a USB mix output that can be sent to a laptop is great. It means you can record your performance cleanly onto your computer and edit it later using the audio editing software that comes free with the mixer.

For the price, I can't really fault this unit. I would recommend it for small home studios, pub/bar band PA systems and singers.

Perfect for solo/duo use

I bought this desk to use with my new duo instead of my Allen & Heath Mix Wizard, and.....................I was very happy with the outcome.

This desk provides everything you need for a live performance, including a very effective compressor as well as a good vocal effects unit. Bought in conjunction with the Thon case, it has been a fantastic addition to my set up and wish I'd done it earlier, as it is light, well priced, and delivers everything you need.

Great value

Great unit and simple to use. Have had up to 5 mics running through it with a couple of guitars and it handles the whole lot well. The volume sliders are great and the mute switch for individual channels makes it easy to switch off one channel without changing any of the settings.

The effects are good with plenty of adjustment but I'm not sure why it needs a pitch shifter, unless you want to sound like mickey mouse on helium.

Overall very pleased with my purchase.

Bargain Mixer

I've been using this for a couple of years now. Both live and studio applications I can't fault it. It has a USB and works out of the box on a Mac running Audacity or Garage Band - no drivers no fuss.

You can connect 4 microphones (Inc Condensers on 48v phantom) and 2 stereo instruments. It also has effects which you can apply to individual tracks.

I only replaced it recently because I wanted to be able to use multiple channels on my DAW and this mixer will only provide a stereo (2 channel) downmix. However, I have made some excellent quality recordings using it and it lives on for live applications.

As with many Behringer products it has a bargain price but in the 2 years I've operated it I've not had a single problem with it and the sound quality remains as it was when it was new.

Great mixer, not so great Headphone Amp

For the price you pay this mixer is unbelievable great. I have it hooked up to my Linux Mint notebook recording and monitoring Audacity. The quality I am getting with this, together with my Behringer C1 mic is unbelievable good. It does take a lot of work getting the gain level just right, and the main fades need to be in the zero position or the usb signal is too low, yet when its right its doing the job with low or little noise.

It SEEMS to be noisy through the headphones, and that put one off a bit at first, yet I managed to send the contol outs to my little hifi amp and the quality is just great. I read somewhere the headphone amps are no good on Behringer. The control pot itself is perfect, the noise is only from the amp itself, which is AFTER the control output amplification stage. I really feel that this is an area which it took me a long time to figure out, so I pass it on to you. I was quite worried about my combined purchase of the Mic and Mixer, cause I need it for live playing in the street also, yet this headphone amp problem/fix has done it for me. I will probably use the same little amp in the street so I get a good in ear monitor sound for live playing.

Highly Recommended.
