Behringer Xenyx X2222USB 5-stars Reviews
Xenyx X2222 USB PA console
I use the Behringer Xenyx X2222 USB as PA in my home studio and as USB interface for my HiFi. I am overall very pleased with it.
My only concern -I am note sure if this is fully for the mixer to blame though- is the recording quality over USB since I can never get rid of hissing sound which is small but noticeable. The "solution" I found is to filter the noise in Audacity which is the recording program I use.
Great Bit of Kit
This is a great piece of gear - sturdy, portable and packed full of features which makes it incredibly versatile. I use mine for numerous mobile purposes and the rest of time time it sits in the studio controlling a secondary setup and it has never missed a beat.
I have to admit that I have never really used it over USB as an interface as It does not give me the ability to record multiple tracks simultaneously, however as an analog mixer is it probably the best value on the market. It is built like a tank and I found the 19 inch rack adapters that come with it a very pleasant surprise.
The only thing that has failed on it is the FX knob cap, for some reason the FX would not work with the cap on, but thats something that I'll happily over look as otherwise it works fine.
The mixer is very flexible allowing for various routing options that I have as yet failed to run out of. I particularly like the compressor built in each channel strip and the colour if the EQ.
This product is great, I would recommend it to anyone. Two thumbs up!
Great little desk!
I have had this desk for the past 4 years. It has been used in both live scenarios in an acoustic 3 piece band and in home recording situations and it is a work horse. I've used it for home recording along with live gigs more recently as I went from passive speakers to active ones, and this desk works brilliantly with those.
The mic preamps are great and the colour coded knobs fro EQ and channel routing are very user friendly and look like higher priced brands. Behringer get a lot of stick but I've had nothing but great things from this desk.
It is well built and can take a beating. It has survived being dropped from 2 feet onto concrete twice after its box fell apart before I purchased a hardcase for it. A little marked from the ordeal on the edges but all funtions are 100%.
The only flaw I have with it is that the inbuilt effects don't send through the main xlr outs only the sub outs and aux sends. Maybe I have overlooked something.. It hasn't caused any major headaches for me.
Great desk, great price! Behringer deserve more credit!
Robust and Simple
We are a 5 piece rock covers band and needed a mixer desk for rehearsals and gigs, as always money was tight so opted for this over some of the more expensive brands. Don't really know how different a more expensive brand would sound as this one sounds absolutely fine and no complaints from any of the gigs about the sound quality.
Not disappointed with this one little bit, simple to use once you get the hang of it with loads of bits and pieces we have yet to actually use.
Just enough inputs for us as a five piece but would always be nice to have maybe a few more XLR inputs.
Also just found a way of boosting the vocals through the desk without increasing everything else by using main and sub mix together.
The one downside to this has to be the manuals and instructions, its the same as the Behringer website but you don't really get told how to use it, you just get told where the buttons are.
You really do have to use this to know how it all works.
In the mix
GR8 preamps loads of headroom and nice subtle effects which are editable. Just wish Audio usb I/O was 8 x 8 and i would use for recording.
Great desk with loads of features
Bought to control acoustic drum mics, an SPDS, triggers and ipod dock for our live show and does everything well, mounted in a flight case it is still very portable. Equally good for home studio work, all easy to use.
X2222 USB
quality mixing deak looks professional comes with alot of equipment and kit for the price very good budget mixing desk
Very good quality mixing desk, looks very professional and comes with alot of applications, equipment and kit for the price, it is a very good budget mixing desk and has loads of different applications, this mixing desk is used for my soundsystem, I use 4 inputs 2 line inputs from the dj mixer and two mic inputs from microphones, there is a main output which goes to the LMS, control room out for the monitor speakers and aux send is used for the stage monitor for the microphones.
The Xenex series by Behringer - The X2222
So originally I needed a full featured yet compact enough desk for a radio studio, So I bought the x2222 by Behringer and so far it has not disappointed. Its best features are it Fx processor and the british Eq.
The fx section seems to be an upgraded version of the effects processor contained in the now infamous Eurodesk by Behringer.
The Eq section works very well on the channels and when I eventually decided to start using the desk at gigs on top of the radio studio it started to show it diverse use. Especially for the price!
The Xenyx series also come with a USB interface. So you can plug it in to your computer and install with the driver which will allow you to use the desk with your favorite Digital audio workstation. The recording will only appear as one stereo or mono track though as the 22 channels will not be treated as individual tracks by the software. If you need something to record individual tracks simultaneously try the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8r.
Overall the X2222 is a great desk for the price.
Behringer Xenyx x2222 USB
A very good mixer. Sounds better the i ever expected. Digital sounds efect too. This mixer is perfect for small live concerts, dj, or karaoke evenings.
Great little mixer
Whenever buying a small mixer, always get the most mic channels you can because you're always going to run out even if you think you won't.
This is a nice desk. Lots of inputs and built in FX. I put one into a local school and it was so nice that a visiting band stole it (yes I did buy another one)! We've used it for plays, musicals and even a flying visit by the three tenors (not the real ones).
The mono inputs have mid-range sweep which is really good for such a low-end desk. There are 4 sub groups and a monitor mix so there are lots of possibilities for routing. The Monitor and FX aux send masters have full sliders rather than knobs which is a nice touch.
The FX processor has a good choice of effects although it can be a bit hissy if you push it up too loud.
Lots of people say that Behringer gear is sub-standard but I've never had any complaints and I also own 3 other Behringer desks.
An excellent mixer
For what it costs, this mixer is superb. Just the right set of features for hooking up small to medium band PA systems. It's easy to operate, I think it sounds great, and the clients I've used it for have been more than happy too.
