great mouthpiece, I stuck with the same size as my last but with the mega tone addition. This mouthpiece gives huge comfort on the chops, it feels solid and holds the sound so well. I'm not an engineer and quite frankly I'm not going to pretend I know what's going on with this mouthpiece but it has a psychological affect on me when I play it, it cleans up leaving all other mouthpieces in the dark. This piece of carved metal is a quality gem. One happy customer over here.

low register sounds quite good for a medium shallow cup. nice rimshape for confort and endurance (feels a bit wider than standard, different from the narrower #18 rim) If you are used to medium large to large mouthpieces but want an easier upper register and endurance and still a good soundquality this piece is worth a try!

This mouthpiece is based on the famous Bach Mt Vernon 3c and is slightly larger than the Stork Vachiano 3c I have played for years. The stork makes a rich sound on both Bb and C trumpet but in the orchestra I needed something that helped me create a bigger symphonic sound and that helped me project in loud passages. This mouthpiece has been excellent in allowing me to achieve these goals has a very comfortable rim, and is very responsive. The inner diameter and the cup are larger than other 3c's I've played. The only tiny issue is that the silver plating seems to show signs of wear relatively quickly but I still thoroughly recommend it!

Not only an excellent mouthpiece that does not freeze to the lips when play winter, outside, with an acceptable sound, but also quite a beautiful, eye-catching solution. According to the form factor, it is compatible with boosters. It's super. Thank you!

I bought this to act as a smaller mouthpiece than my usual 3C for the Bflat trumpet. The 7C I'd used before was too dull sounding and I needed an equivalent. The Schilke 11 feels very similar to the 7C but with a lovely smooth, rich sound. It's lucky that it feels so similar to the 11Ax I use with my Schilke Piccolo, making transferring from one to the other that much easier. Well made, as ever, and comfortable on the lips.

This is a truly great mouthpiece, especially if you doing a lot of "legit" playing. Very close to a Bach 1.25C. Pros: easy to play, great tone, perfect rim size and shape Cons: really geared for "legit" work, a bit more expensive than similar mouthpieces (but really worth the extra cost) Conclusions: this is a fantastic mouthpiece especially for the "legit" players, you need to try it to enjoy it, and yes, it is one of my three favourites

This is a large backbore with a dark tone, useful in a C trumpet and for making a wall of sound on a Bb horn - I think it is more like a Schmitt style(?) backbore. It is more effort to play and gives a huge dynamic range. The sound blends more than the 9.

The piece does its job very good. For big band stuff the sound is a good fit at does sizzle with very little pressure but accepts a lots of air still when needed. The slightly enlarged bore probably has something to do with this. A word of warning - if your lips get swelling during a gig, you'll bottom out as it is quite shallow.

An excellent mouthpiece most suitable for big band playing. The tone is bright and projection is very good. It gives the player the configuration of a medium cup with a backbore that enables the payer to cut through a large ensemble. If you like the Shew Yamaha medium cup Jazz model but want more projection, less effort in playing and a little more resistance then the 7 is recommended.

I am giving this four points because I think it is a beautifully crafted mouthpiece. However, the rim does not fit me personally, being too rounded, but of course this is a very personal matter and everyone will have different needs and preferences in this compartment. Also, it really is a heavy mouthpiece and has a specific sound. I guess it is not usually used in jazz or "lighter music". The sound is certainly massive, but speaks better, at least for me, in the low and middle register, though when one does manage the high notes, they are unusual and full of colour. I would say that this mouthpiece is special exactly in this "colour". I have tried two other heavy Denis Wick pieces, and they more or less fit into the above, but this, the 1 1/4C is my favourite for its...
