beyerdynamic DT-1990 Pro 250 Ohm 5-stars Reviews
Great quality product!
Almost every day I work with sound. For the last 10 years, I had many others professional headphones. When I got DT 1990 Pro, I stopped using other headphones.
These headphones sound amazing, comfortable in use and build quality is one of the best on the market. It is good not only for professional purposes but also for everyday use.
Highly recommended!
One of the best open headphones
I can use this pair for 4-5 hours in the row. I am surprised that are so easy to wear. The sound is acurate at that level when i am confused. Did I left my studio monitors on? Of course not. The sound is linear and easily I can feel anything wrong in my mix. I am producing electronic music and is compulsory to have a liniar response. Cons: It seems to me to be a little less responsive in high freqvencies spectrum, but can be adjusted by reposityining the headphones over the ear. (i have large ears)
If you want one headphone to do everything, it's dt 1990 pro
Use: as a daily driver at home, music movies gaming for 8 hours daily
Pros:
- Bass: perfect with balanced pads, you don't need more no matter what you listen to
- Vocals: very clear with body to them
- Musicality: very pleasing with all instruments
- Details: everywhere nothing can hide it will show you all even when a lot of things happening at once
- Soundstage: wide with good layering, you can hear things behind each other almost exactly where they are
Cons:
- The only con is the treble sometimes harsh (like metallic zing) but not painful if you are not sensitive and only obvious with bad or cheap recordings, but the headphone does everything so well you forgive it for this, it will reveal flaws of the recordings
Some tips to enjoy this headphone:
- use a warm and smooth amp, like if you are on a budget, Schiit Magni 3+ (not heresy) or ifi zendac are perfect for this your ears will thank you.
- Listen only to this headphone and nothing else for a week then decide, it becomes better everyday
Superior Headphones
I've bought these mainly for mixing, but I use them for almost everything at home.
Sound:
Clear, amazing separation, for open back they have very good bass, these are a little bright but not in a bad way, very pleasant and not sibilant. overall SOUND AMAZING.
Comfort:
They are pretty comfortable, maybe after a long period wearing them can press your ears a little bit, *BUT* I own them for only a week, so the pressure will likely to be gone.
Quality:
They are built like a tank, in a good way, they are heavy but I don't feel it. They feel very good and will last for years and years,
Could not recommend them more, they are absolutely amazing!
great headphone
The best headset I've ever used.
better than sennehiser hd6xx and hifiman he400s
cons:
High frequencies are harsh
Amazing
I got them just to enjoy music in a more neutral way i am not a creator or a sound geek.
The sound quality is something out of this world.Build like a Benz.
Cons/nothing
Pros/eveything
I had to return them only because my right ear hurts me like hell when using them....nothing wrong with the headphones my ear is the issue
Best headphones I ever used before!
Used them as a primary monitoring instrument for my mixes half a year and can't stop loving them. For me they are perfect! My mixes instantly improved.
Every person who listened something through them was amazed! I mean, they couldn't close their jaws..!
The reason I loved them is because they sounds like EarPods on some Steroids!
Pros:
- Stereo image is great
- Amazing frequency response all seems to be there
- Built quality is fantastic
- Both cords are super durable, love the material
- Good case
- Sexy design, clients like it 😃
Cons:
- None
Since quite often I am on the go, I love to take these with me, but case is too large. It perfectly fits in my 13" Kanken with MacBook and some chargers and cords, but for other equipment I need to carry now more bags. That's fine but sometimes I feel that I just need these extra space for my other things.
A game changer
I know this wll be great headphone, but I didn't expect that much of clarity and bass impact.
The only thing that I didn't like is the clamping force. everything else is superior.
love from the first hearing
Great sounding headphones.
Close to my monitors (Yamaha Hs8).
Very accurate, detail, good scene, nice build.
I bought it for critical listening, but I will listen music in them and just for fun.
Super Pro gear
I use them to edit, mix and master and I couldn't be more happier. Super clear and ballanced audio through all frequencies.
The best headphones I've used. Totally recommend them to anyone who want an open-back headphones - not suitable for recording due to the lack of sound (it's NOT a con) - for those tasks I mentioned.
Pros:
- super confortable;
- super reference sound quality;
- super detailed;
- super high end build;
- super happy costumer;
- NOT super exaggerated.
No cons.
Mix your tracks in headphones
Of course you'd need to check the mix in monitors and in your car but if you need to get results by mixing in headphones - this cans will get you as close to the final result as possible. Great sounding headphones. Recommended.
Great quality of studio sound
Best for low freq sound mixing
Best headphones ever
I tried over 100 headphones from various brands. And I tried beyerdynamic before but not this model. They also sound much better than the other brands, in my opinion, but this 1990 Pro is just another level of headphones. They have so clear, precise sound it's just unbelievable. They are very comfort, but if you use them for more hours like I do they hurt yours ear a bit because cups have a strong clamping force. I read on few reviews that they will loosen up after time, but on my headphones they are still strong. And that's the only reason why I didn't give comfort 5 stars, everything else is justifiably.
Finally found the best headphones for mixing
The sound quality is outstanding. Even the subs are so detailed. I have been mixing at night with headphones and the results are amazing when reviewing on speakers the next day. Best headphones! Price is high but worth every euro!
Very Good Studio Headphones
I bought these for both audio production and casual listening,
I'm using them with a scarlett solo 2nd gen and no dedicated amp, i get enough amount of volume between 1 and 3 o'clock.
So i would say amp reccomended but not required, for a 250 Ohms hp they're reasonably easy to drive.
Pros:
- incredibly detailed and balanced bass and mids
- accentuated treble*
- fantastic imaging and instrument separation
- good soundstage
- built like an absolute tank
- good amount of accessories (semi-hard case, 2 cables, 2 sets of pads)
Cons:
- accentuated treble*
- slightly heavy
- changing pads can be troublesome
* The treble in this hp can be both a good and a bad thing depending on your use.
For pro use is great as it will help you to produce music that is not fatiguing to the hears.
For casual listening is not ideal, while it does sound fantastic and open, in long listening sessions it might cause hear fatigue. But at the end you can always tame the treble with EQ.
Overall I can reccomend this hp to most people, i would only avoid them if you're very treble sensitive and/or listen mainly to poorly mastered music.
Note: Tested with A (analytical) pads
Precise, comfortable, sturdy
This is truly a mixing/mastering headphone. You hear *exactly* what's there in the signal. Prime construction quality and very comfortable. I'm not going to start mixing and mastering without speakers, but I'll probably be listening to everything with this, as well. The things you hear!
These are my new babies.
Heads up, I have so far been using them for listening pleasure. Doesn't mean these aren't amazing headphones.
They are built like a tank, will last for many years.
Comfort is good, I've worn more comfortable headphones, but these are still good.
Sound is very revealing. I've started to hate albums I used to love, that's how good these headphones are. They are perfect for audio work. They will reveal every screwup, no problem. Again, for listening pleasure is specific, if the mix is bad, these headphones will definitely let you know about it.
In conclusion, for any type of audio/studio work, it's a big YES. For home listening, depends on whether or not you want to start hating music you used to love. 5/5
Great for critical listening but brutally honest and need good amp!
I got these for checking mixes. They're perfect for what I need and one of the best headphones I've owned in ANY price range.
They're brutally honest though. To the point where I actually prefer many "lesser" headphones for casual listening. For critical mixing they are great!
They need a good headphone amp to work properly. And when I say "need" I really mean NEED! You can totally forget about using these with the built in headphone amp on your Behringer interface. You would probably be better off with a 20 Euro Superlux with that setup.
But combine the DT1990s with a good quality headphone amp and they're absolutely brilliant! Especially for critical listening.
Very impressive, highly recommended!
Great Headphones
I bought these for mastering recordings at home. Very neutral headphones and especially good with the analytical ear cushions. As you will read elsewhere, the cushions are a bit tricky to install and that could have been designed with a bit more thought. My feeling is the Bererdynamic choose the cheaper option which is the reason I gave them 4 stars for the Verarbeitung. Despite this, these cans sound fantastic (if you want neutrality). They are, detail true and work well with any source. If the source is less than optimal , you will hear that too.
I use these headphones for a while now and i must say i am very happy that i bought them! If you use good preamp on them they really starts to shine. Specially on mid-high freq. I would recommend them!
