Amazing

Those are my first studio headphones and I am 100% satisfied..

They play awesome and are really comfortable. Except music I use them also for gaming and also works great.

Quality studio/gaming headphones

The comfort on these puppies is unbelievable. My ears are super large but these headphones fit like a glove, the velour pads are so soft and comfy, the material feels premium and expensive. Sound wise, I got them connected to my Goxlr and they produce the best sound I’ve ever heard. Shuffling through my favorite songs and I’m noticing instruments I couldn’t hear before. Highly recommended.

Really good except a teeny tiny design flaw

As an average audiothusiast, the sound output is superb with the low volume setting giving normal output sound even for being open cans. As such, it can be comfortably repurposed as a subwoofer for the times you just don't want to wear them.

Smooth sounding. Not terribly bass-y which I like. Cushion ear padding and being detachable makes it great for cleaning and long use which I find true.

I would not necessarily recommend it for long hair or for only if you have your hair neatly tied because the design where the cans meet the handband has a button-like clip (gap and all) that easily catch any stray hairs. Small enough it just manage 1-2 strands but once caught it will take some careful prying to get it loose. Which either damage or lose the hair. That said if you are able to adjust to this small design flaw it's a good value headphones.

Stunning Sound and Stunning Comfort

Great soundstage, very neutral sounding with clear and even bass. Highs were a little harsh to begin with but a couple of hours of use smoothed this out.

Amazing headphones let down by a poor cable

2 months in, and thus far, the headphones have been great, they fit and feel better than the original DT lineup, much more modern and up to date, and the sound quality is as you'd expect from beyerdynamic. However, only 2 months in and the original 3.5mm to mini-xlr cable has already started failing on the 3.5mm side of the cable, which is disappointing to say the least.

Analysehörer

Alle Frequenzen sind ausgeglichen hörbar, und Klavier klingt sehr natürlich. Aber der Bassbereich hat wenig Dynamik, ein Spaßhörer ist es nicht. Eher fürs Fehler finden. Man hört Spuren, die mit einem anderen Hörer untergehen.

Er ist eher etwas unbequem, weil die neu gestalteten Pads die Öffnung ein bisschen enger machen.

Amazing for the price!

First time with Open back Headphones and thought it was going to be bad since I come from a Closed back Headphones and I prefer insolation, and with enough volume you really don't hear outside, sound quality is superb, in soundstage and the quality of the music you hear, and can't say a lot of other Open back Headphones since I haven't experienced anything like this.

Almost perfect

Bought them to change.my tygr. The base is much more controlled, they are faster and more accurate in the mids, but in terms of fun the tygrs win. They have a sense 9f listening to speakers. This not on that level.

But i am very happy with them as I like a more neutral sound. The tygrs also are a very good choice, especially for the majority of the consumers.

Very great headphones.

Great open back head phones, can hear my custom keyboard very well. Very great soundstage as well and good for gaming.

Great New Product

Very versatile headphones, which go well on any type of music... I'm not using them for mastering or mixing, but just for my own enjoyment.

I'm saying versatile because you can swap the filter foam disc with the ones from 1990 and get a different signature, more open and with better clarity.

Not that far away from 1990, when you swap the filters, in terms of sound quality.

As comfort goes, 900 are really easy to wear for a couple of hours, more comfortable than 1990, in my opinion.

If you like Beyer's house sound, but your brain can't take the 1990's treble, you can use the 900 as stock without problems. If you want a budget 1990 then get these and swap the filters.

The 900 is my budget headphone king!

Overall great headphone with really neutral response, at least to my ears

I ordered both 990 and 900 pro x. I mainly listen to edm (literally everything from hardcore to ambient) and some jazz. I will try to compare the two as best I can. Also I am doing a lot of music production and play games from time to time.

Comparison:

Build

DT 900 Pro X - better and more solid build, feels a lot more premium

DT 990 Pro - definitely not cheap, but not on par with 900 pro x

Comfort/features

Note: with both headphones one of my ears touched the inner part of headphone which I didn't find annoying

DT 900 Pro X - just a bit more comfortable on head than 990 and pads are softer, more pillow like, a plus for detachable cable (didn't have any problems with it like some people do)

DT 990 Pro - more open and spacious, but feels a bit "too light" on the head, but it's definitely a good thing for longer sessions, also headband pad feels more premium on this headphone, but not as soft as 900 pro x

Sound:

As this is very subjective part, I will report differences observed between the two models

DT 900 Pro x: overall flatter sound signature - flat bass and better extension, more forward and detailed mids, a bit darker with a spike or two in treble which I didn't even noticed until started to play with EQ, but still could pick up more details than on 990. Sound is slightly closed in than on 990, but imaging and general sense of space is better

DT 990 Pro: more V shaped with emphasis on treble - more bass (less clean), distant/reduced mids, very strong relatively consistent treble, but too harsh for me personally. More songs were too bright than not. These are very open and have bigger soundstage, but also more confusing one (less precise).

Conclusion

I decided to go with 900 Pro x easily, they feel more premium and solid, works "out of the box" for me and don't need any EQ really (maybe just to tame those spikes in treble by a 3 db). Mixes translated a bit better. Tried it on some new mixes, as well as old ones. Do note that I'm a bit treble sensitive and DT 990 Pros are just too bright and mid recessed, so my mixes sounded darker than they should, also mids were too close for my taste.

Definitely recommending DT 900 Pro X

An upgrade from DT 990 PRO

Nice sounding headphones with more pronounced mids and a little more tamed highs than the DT 990 pro.

Soundstage feels a bit tighter on these compared to the 990s which have an "airier" soundstage.

These have more accurate imaging though.

A welcome to the detachable cable and the 45 ohm driver which makes it easy to drive without an amp!

At first det earpads feel a little stiff, and they're significantly tighter than the 990s, but after a week's use they get worn in and feels way better. The DT 990 is still more comfortable, IMO.

4 out 5 stars because of better comfort on the dt 990.
