Great mic

Since I started using only Beyerdynamic mics, I had to switch my beloved AKG D112, instaled with M.A.Y Internal Miking System in my bass drum, to TG D70. I loved the natural "unpretentious" sound of the AKG, so the D70 was not that much of a difference I cann't handle with. The D70 is more "modern" sounding mic. It has great depth and lowend, the atack is pleasant, not to much emphasized. The end result was that I had to let my D112 go.

Superb Quality

Wonderful sound quality. Very clear signals. Bass drum sounds fantastic even with no EQ, or effects. There is nothing better on the market.

like a M88, half the length!

This is a good microphone for the price, it has all the good sound qualities of a M88 with a bit more bottom end. The compact package helps save space out the front of a kick drum. I'm two years in with it and no major complaints! I'm using it especially for kick drums without a front hole, Nice and tight sounding on jazz, 50-60s rock and roll etc. It's not No.1 on my list for metal or anything on the heavier end of the spectrum. But I don't say no if it is used along with a plate microphone. The 070 II takes eq really well and even flat it pulls a great tone. It also does a nice job on a bass rig.

Most notably, just like my experience with a M88 you always get a good sound over may different kits (as long as they're tuned!) I find several of the other offers out there can be really inconsistent between kits.

10/10 for the tasks I put it to.

What a Kick Mic

When I decided to move over to Beyerdynamic drum mics I was worried if I’m settling for a certain type of lower quality. Let me confess and say I am really shocked at how amazing this mic sounds.

Even better than some of its bigger competitors. Great work by Beyerdynamic on this new product. Just the best!
