Great small guitar once you get used to it
I live in Spain and play in bands there so ordered this for England so I could stay in guitar-playing shape while here, so I mostly play it unamplified. The resonance of the body when you play an open chord goes on forever - a bit like a piano with the sustain pedal down. If you lay it on your left leg and lodge it in place with your right it pretty comfortably stays in place - it's fine standing up with a strap as well. It can go a little out of tune but after a month I think I'm getting the hang of tweaking the tuning quite quickly - I'd probably dare to play a short gig with it now. I recently tried the more expensive version with all the binding and so on in a guitar shop but far prefer this one - for me, a Telecaster man, it looks way cooler, it feels more solid, it appears to have more resonance in the body and the single coil option from pulling up the volume knob didn't sound that great to me. I really love playing the standard version, it might even inspire a song or two ;o)
Impressive construction, poor design
This guitar looks, feels, and sounds very good for the price, however, there are two big issues with the playability. First, the tuners are clearly far too heavy for this guitar. This causes the neck to plummet toward the ground, forcing me to prop the neck up with my hand, making my arm hurt after a while, and making it difficult to move up and down the fretboard. The second issue is that the body is too slippery. The body is rounded and the lower horn is not pronounced enough to provide even a slight anchor point, which makes it to slip onto its back while trying to rest on my leg. Overall, amazingly built for the money, but the design flaws make me hate playing it. I will not be bringing this with me anywhere.
