Very good little amp - Atrocious PC/MAC application.

The amp is very very good - the stereo speakers on this thing are almost magical for the size.

It's very well built - works brilliantly as an audio interface and the voicings are very good/customizable.

But their computer application...

It looks like it was coded by a log high on acid, whilst using internet explorer code as base and inspiration.

seriously...no.

Great product!

Good for what it was built for. Fast connection with mobile phone. Good sound quality. Very portable. Volume quite loud actually. Played bass several times, quite OK. Played electric guitar. No so good because I use valve tube amps (from Blackstar...),but OK for a solid state amp. Tried an acoustic guitar once, and it was OK too. The effects are a plus. For practice, for small parties, to sing along with friends, perfect. As a music workstation at your bedroom with this possibility to had your bass, acoustic or electric guitar, there is no match for this. Of course that quality is questionable when compared with dedicated products, but all of that combined and you're looking into more space and other budget!. Will not put mine aside.

An inspiring little amp

This amp inspire me to play more, it has a nice tone and a number of very usable effects, all at your fingertip.

It works with electric, acustic, bass and it has even an acustic simulation: an incredibly flexible device!

Plug in the guitar and you don't need anything else to start experimenting, thanks to the very usable integrated effects.

I like how the look is a nice blend between an usual guitar amp and an hi-fi speaker or a radio. This makes it fit nicely not just in the studio but also in a living room.

The tuner mode and Bluetooth complete the picture, giving an extra boost to the usefulness of the package.

It doesn't try to be a gigging amp, but I do use it for rehearsal.

All in all it gives me a lot of joy!

Needs some improvements

I use this amp for home practise and playing music.

Although the effects and sound are pretty impressive for such a small amp ,its controls aren't that intuitive. This is compounded by a poor users manual and the supplied software, isn't as good as other manufacturers. My biggest gripe is that for a portable amp, it doesn't have any kind of handle. It has quite a smooth finish and I've almost dropped it a couple of times. Apart from that it's a very versatile usable little amp

Blackstar ID Core Beam

I've bought this beautiful little combo amp for home rehearsal with my bass guitar. The sound it delivers it's quite amazing, and for guitar players even more, it's loaded with effects, presets. A friend of mine played with the B.E.A.M with the help of his guitars (both electric and acoustic) and I was truly impressed.

The only one fault I've found it's about the bluetooth part. It's not working very well: for example there are some devices which just could not be paired: from what I've tried it's a laptop (HP) and a cell (Huawei). And also once in a while a strange sound came from the unite when it's used in bluetooth mode, something like it's buffering. Maybe it's just required a new firmware, I don't know, the fact that it's not very much online response from Blackstar to this problem it's not a very nice thing from them. Hopefully this will be resolved in the future.

Wow!!

I bought this as a portable bass amp and was also interested in the bluetooth capability. It has proved to be a brilliant solution to meet my requirements. However, It has knocked my socks off as a acoustic guitar and electric guitar practice amp. I now find myself micing up this amp to do my home recording. Have tried the emulated line out into a tascam dp32... but wasn't happy with recording levels i could get on some of the voices... stick one or two sm57's in front... it suits me fine ....i am Well pleased.
