I have to say that this controller is even better than my expectation (that were quite high because we're speaking about RME), in terms of aestethic and build quality. It looks really solid, even when you touch it. Buttons but especially the wheel are very comfortable and look totally durable. Personally, I would just have added a talkback mic to it.

I thought I should try it with the DP24-SD in my home studio. It really is a game changer. Whether sitting at a keyboard or standing at a mic it is so easy to punch in and out, plus the three switches have selectable functions. Not really any "Cons"!

I bought this item to use as a wireless remote control for a Tascam DR 40, without realising my unit didn't support wireless. (My fault) So have to use it with the provided lead. Works perfectly, although was a bit surprised that the sender unit had to be inserted into the wired receiver section to work. Wouldn't it have been easier to put the receiver on the outside of the wired section, so the unit could work wirelessly? Other than that the remote works perfectly and there is plenty of lead.

Neve 8804 Faderpack

I use this as a "demo" mixdown device with my 8816, and it's great for that. I had a problem from the start with intermittent leds (for mute and solo), which necessitated sending it back to the UK for repair. It took 2 months. Ultimately, the build quality is just mediocre. The faders feel kind of sloppy, and the aluminum faceplate has an unfinished quality to the edges. I'd expect more for the price, but it IS very convenient, rather than twisting the knobs in the 8816, PLUS the faderpack frees up the level knobs to be cue volumes - very nice.
