Over 60 years I've owned many top clarinets and I still love my Festival and R13. I also have two other ABS models and a top of the range ebonite. But this one is something else, for all kinds of jazz; it has a beautiful tone, volume, projection, fluency and an expressive capability I've never experienced even with grenadilla. I haven't had it long enough to be sure of its long-haul quality, but it came beautifully set up. This is my first review of anything; I just had to tell you guys.
Buffet Crampon Légende Bb- Clarinet 19/6

I'm a masters in clarinet, learned on a RC. This instrument is shockingly well tuned and the sound is even throughout the instrument. It's more centered than previous RC line instruments, the Legende reminds me of the sound of german bore clarinets. The keywork is definately more comfortable than previous Buffet models. The only complaint I have are some of the mechanical aspects of the instrument. I need to take it to the technician every 3rd month to eliminate rattles and I think there could be more robust ways of aproaching the construction of the instrument to make it need less maintainance.

This is a very well finished instrument with a good tone. It was quite difficult to assemble first time as the various parts were very tight fitting despite the generous use of cork grease. I would urge buyers to be careful not to damage the instrument whilst assembling.
Yamaha YCL-450M Clarinet

Standard (I mean very good) Yamaha quality. It is not exceptional instrument but it is very good in every aspect. Used only with Yamaha 4C mouthpiece and to my taste sound could be darker. On other hand it is very well balance instrument - just the middle spectrum.
Startone SCL- 25 Bb- Clarinet

I am a complete beginner to the clarinet and I'm very happy with this instrument. I couldn't get it to make a sound at first but a quick Google search showed me what I needed to do. I'm far from a teenager so I would imagine that learning an instrument is much easier when you are young but I'm very happy with my progress so far :-). When I can manage to blow it correctly, the instrument has a lovely deep rich tone and my step-mum actually thought it was made from wood it looks that good. I want to mount it on the wall for storage, it looks that pretty :-).

Bought this as a present for my bf who played clarinet as a child and he is so happy with it. He played it straight away and it sounded beautiful. All the accessories are great too, even the little bag it comes in! A beautiful instrument, perfect for anyone new or picking it back up after a long time.
Buffet Crampon Prodige Bb-Clarinet 18/6

I bought Prodigy 18/6 mainly as an instrument for outdoor playing. It's made of ABS resin and is not prone to cracking although one should keep in mind that low temperatures do impact the resin and make the pitch go noticeably down — it's not metal or plastic, after all. But also in the indoor situation, the instrument has shown every characteristic of a regular professional grade clarinet, lest the "woodiness" in tone that was missing there. The latter could be noticed while comparing Prodige back to back to my regular wooden Bb (Selmer Privilege), but outside of that comparison, it was just perfectly fine. I specifically asked my orchestra pit colleagues: they liked it a lot and had no problem blending and otherwise playing in ensemble with me on the Prodige....
