Excellent keyboard. I'm very much a beginner piano player. I currently have a Yamaha P115 piano but needed 61 key keyboard for a small space. The contenders were a Roland Go or a Yamaha NP12, until I stumbled on to Casio's latest releases. So glad I did. It has some lovely tones, especially the stage piano. The keys, though unweighted and slightly smaller than a piano are quiet nice to play on. The touch response works very well. After a quick perusal of the manual, I found the controls very intuitive. The six track recorder is excellent. I was attempting compositions the first evening. The speakers are good, not great. A good pair of headphones (like the excellent Superlux Hd 681's) work wonderfully. This keyboard has two great features. It makes you sound better than you are and...
Yamaha PSR-SX900

My new Yamaha arrived the other day and my initial reaction is one of delight. I wanted a smaller keyboard that i could carry around when playing with friends and the SX 900 fits the bill. It has a user friendly keyboard with buttons and equivalent touch screen functions. I tend to prefer buttons (I'm an analogue kind of guy) It has a great array of sounds and styles and with the arranger you get a genuine band feel. I suppose i am a bit disappointed with the piano sounds but a sold a Nord to buy the SX 900 and was spoiled with quality piano sounds. But overall my initial reaction is very positive. The manual isn't quite as friendly as the keyboard and some of the diagrams are hard to read. The SX 900 comes without a pedal and a Korg sustain pedal I possessed wouldn't work with it. I...

EN: I had Yamaha PSR-27 in the 90's. This is so step up. Super Articulation voices (common with PSR SX700 i SX900), great styles (3 intros, 4 variations, 3 endings each), loud enough and great sound quality form the speakers. Playing La Cumparsita with accordion to the Tango style is so much fun! PL: Miałem Yamahę PSR-27 w latach 90' - ten instrument jest lata świetlne do przodu. Świetne brzmienia (wspólne z PSR SX700 i SX900), style w "stylu" Yamahy (3 intra, 4 wariacje, 3 zakończenia każdy), donośny i czysty dźwięk z głośników. Zagrać tango La Cumparsita z brzmieniem akordeonu - warto było kupić nawet po to ten instrument.
Startone MK-400

I'm used to Roland semi weighted keys, and Yamaha Tyros. I was excited about this keyboard, but Startone MK400 have very good keys.. Much better then expected in this price range. There are lots of sounds and styles available. Some needs a little tweaking, but all in all they are fine as a start. I first tried an old SD card (Class 4) i had lying Loaded with midi files.. The keyboard loaded and played the first file, but it was not possible to play other files. It only started the same file.. Swapped to a newer SD card (Class10), and all was fine.. Loading songs quickly.. So use at least a class 10 SD card.. Except from that all is fine. So now my wife is having fun playing the keyboard. As always with new keyboards, it takes some time to learn functions. But when you find how it is...

I purchased this keyboard as a Christmas present for my wife, who is eager to learn the piano in her limited leisure time. It does a great job at this task, particularly when hooked up to her iPad in conjunction with Chordana and Synthesia. The lighted keys are a huge advantage to her as they show and wait for her to hit the correct note of the arranged song. As a professional string player and intermediate piano player, I can say that it comes handy for some of my piano needs as well, such as computer notation and reading of piano accompaniments and scores for my string pieces. Its keys aren't weighted as a real piano, they are lighter and quite plastic, but I find them easy to play. The sound of its speakers is somewhat "plastic" as well, however you can instantly improve it...

Korg PA-700 Oriental

I needed this for good quality sounds for playing Arabic Music (I was playing VST+MIDI), this is the cheapest option I found. The styles and sound included sounds better than I expected, and they sound incredible and even punchier through a PA system. This is my first Synth (after only MIDI+VST usage), so I have been learning to use the features and they are awesome. The sequencer, the karaoke feature, using songbook, etc. I still have to dig into sound editing and create styles from scratch, but I'm totally satisfied with this at the moment. Maybe the only limitation is that PRO players go directly to PA4x or KRONOS so the best resources are avaliable for those models, but I was not considering spending that much for a synth at this moment. Now I have been having a lot of fun creating...

Great fun top board and couch piano. Bought a year ago and did ~30 pop gigs with it. Pitch bend and cutoff resonance controls make this more useable than my nord electro for a second board. Decent speakers and battery power make this extra fun, I like the really tough light plastic body. Also great ‘wedding band’ top board. Great for clavs, strings brass wurlis synths, decent organs and Rhodes. I never use piano patch but it’s decent. Loads of editable effects. Only reason I took a star off is the patch storing menu. You can’t store a name of a patch which makes recalling old patches a drag. Could be easily fixed in a firmware update but I won’t hold my breath. massive price drop since I bought it, that’s a bargain. I have since upgraded to ck61 which I...

I was looking for something that would shift my creativity in music. I've been in DAW / MIDI programming for a long time and I know things from this site. I was looking for something that is always ready to create and find ideas. You turn it on and it's all there. You don't need speakers, you don't need a computer. If you need a MIDI connection to your computer to record in DAW, it works. You can “steal” some rhythm or bass or other accompaniment. I definitely enjoy learning and playing chords with automatic accompaniment. Some classics are already preset with rhythms and sounds. I'm not a professional musician / entertainer. As it turns out, someday I will be :) Verry good instrument for the price range.

As complete novices to anything in the form of a keyboard, my wife and I, both pensioners, decided it's never too late to learn. This wonderful magical machine piqued our interest following research via youtube etc. by watching and listening to others who can actually play, making beautiful music with the PSR-SX700. We continue to be delighted every day as our practice and experiments with the voices and styles of this first class music machine keep us busy. We love it and are delighted with our purchase.
