Very nice, not a Greenback though

I purchased this for an iso cab in my home studio. I wanted a Greenback flavour but needed a single speaker that can handle amps up to around 35w.

This is a great sounding speaker and I have no regrets but it doesn't really sound like a Greenback, no matter what Celestion says. There is a certain family resemblance but that's it. It's an excellent speaker on it's own terms though.

Finally a good sound

After replacing reverb pan, all tubes, I finally replaced the standard speaker of my Fender Blues Deluxe USA 1995 amp by the Celestion G12M-65. What a difference!

Finally, the amp sounds great now and playing over it is a pleasure.

Love this Speaker!

I Bought this Speaker with use in a 1 x 12 guitar speaker cabinet for a 50w Orange Rockerverb. The Idea was to replace my heavy 412 orange cab with something lighter & More Portable. In the process found a whole new love for my Rockerverb. The G12M-65 Is Great, enough so I traded the heavy 412 cab off for a bass amp.

Creamsound!

Pairs great with sharper and meatier speakers like the V30 or SwangThang. The sound is very clear and percussion, with good response and punching on the low end. It sounds good on recording if you add a ribbon microphone to a standard dynamic mic.

In love with this speaker, is still my best speaker I already tried, I recommend everyone to try one of this.

Sounds exactly as described by Celestion

Tried this speaker in a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe II as a replacement for a Celestion Vintage 30. Compared to the V30 the speaker has more chime and to my ears a more balanced and precise response.

To me, the Hot Rod sounds best at lower levels of drive, for this sound I would prefer the G12M-65 over the V30.

celestion quality

celestion quality, but only 97 db sensitivity, great greenback kind-of sound.
