Celestion Vintage 30 - 8 Ohm Reviews
Celestion
Awesome speaker!
I put this one in an old peavey cabinet and put it in an wardrobe along with some sound isolation and with a engl ironball i now got a killer guitar sound!
Fantastic tonal upgrade for your amp
Since installing this speaker in my fifteen year old Fender Hotrod deluxe amp I've found a new love for this amplifier.
I believe it's the most effective modification that can be made to these well-loved amps. The amp can now handle those drive pedals much more capably than before, with a tighter sound than the old speaker could give. I believe it to be an excellent choice for general rock and blues styles.
Furthermore, the reputation these speakers have for reliability is second to none, and for that you only have to look to see how widely employed they are by many manufacturers. You know that you're in safe hands when installing a Celestion Vintage 30. Mine is breaking in nicely!
Vintage 30
This speaker is a must if you are a Marshall user. The description says it have more midrange and that might turn people off but it's a warm midrange and it makes the sound very clear and tight. Try it because it's not expensive but will make a huge difference to your sound.
Very nice speaker for a combo
I replaced my Celestion classic lead 80 which was factory fitted to my Laney TT50 with this.
I have used vintage 30's in 4x12's and always liked them.
I also replaced the EL34's in the amp (50 water) with ToneBone Pentodes, so now 15-18 watts which is loads when your miking up through PA and replaced the pre tubes with JJs .
Well, the combination of the retune, tone bones and vintage 30 transformed this amp. Lovely now
