Roland Blues Cube Hot VB

I am musician for almost 40 years and I always have tube amplifiers. I have to admit that I hate the sound of transistor amplifiers. I've been owner of Fender Twin Reverb Silverface, Fender Vibrolux, Marshall JCM 900 with 4X12? Celestion cabinet, Music Man 2X10? EV combo and now I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe George Benson. I bought this amplifier for two reasons: the weight (12Kg) because I am getting old and the reviews that claim that it sounds like a real tube amp. Roland says that they tried to emulate Fender Bassman. Does it sound like the Fender Bassman amp? Not 100% but it is close. You can still hear the metallic highs of a transistor amplifier but you can correct that with the equalization or with smart compressor settings. With pedal effects though, sounds great. Better than...
Boss Katana 50 MKII EX
Based on 3 reviews
I had been needing a new amp for some time now, and I'm so glad I went with the Katana. Now, my needs for an amp are very simple, so I won't be going into elaborate detail. But this thing really blew me away with how solid and feature complete it all is. I love the clean black and white aesthetic; the settings and controls are clear and intuitive; and especially do I like that power control knob - very useful! I'm really looking forward to recording some of my own material with this amp in the future. For a real noob like me, I really can't find any faults with this. It does everything I need it to do and then some. Highly recommend!
Orange Crush CR60C

After a couple of months of usage I can say this is a great amp indeed, perfect for home use thanks to it's master volume, but can easily keep up with a drummer thanks to its 12'' speaker and 60W of power. Amazing sound without the hassle of valves, completely analogue (except for the reverb, but all 3 modes sound pretty good anyway), low maintenance, and it looks amazing. I'm very grateful for the effects loop as well. If I had one wish it would be an aux input or maybe a headphone out, but it's just not that kind of amp. It does what it says on the box very well and if you're the kind of person that feels the cons of valves far outweigh the possibly but not necessarily better sound, I'd recommend you take a look at the Crush.
Roland JC-40

Was thinking of investing into a tube amp, like the Fender Blues junior or smth, but decided to go for a solid state amp because of easier handling and reliability. So i went for the best sounding solid state amp there is, the JC. The stereo chorus sound is unbelievable and makes you high the first time you dial it. The clean sound is punchy, and crystal clear. A custom 50s type jazz guitar with a P90 sounds like a Wes Montgomery or George Benson record. A Fender Strat MIJ sounds much more rounded and deep than other solid state amps Ive played through. I dont use a lot of pedals, just a Vox wah and a Morley Pro series Distortion, and the JC takes them very good. I dont use the built in distortion, but its much better than other models of JCs I played, i.e. the old JC 50. It sounds good...
Blackstar Silverline Special

I have been using it for 6 months, I declare that you will not find more saturated digital sound in this price range. Sounds perfect on a clean sound (you can add effects, by the way), distortion and overdrive sound very modern (But you can make overdrive more classic using amp emulation and ISF function). The amplifier looks stylish and will suit any decor. Power of 50 watts will be enough for small concert venues. In general, my rating is 9.90 / 10. You can buy without any doubt. I apologize for some mistakes in the language, I am from Russia. Использую 6 месяцев, заявляю, более...
Boss Nextone Stage

I was looking for universal combo to participate in small jams, recordings, repetitions and home work. And all my expectations have been met together in this device. It's loud enough with my strat to work with careful non-agressive drummer and meanwhile it can be used at home volume for exercises or recordings. It sounds very well with pedals, has good functionality (3 line EQ, 2 channels, boost button, master volume and presence knob), specially I was impressed by deep of reverb. Didn't expect such sound from digital reverb. Boost button doesn't make sound more agressive in my case but it makes combo more sensitive for play technique. Editor is very useful when you need to store somewhere and quickly apply your patterns. It is handful and you're going for recording or jam and need to...
Phil Jones X4 Nanobass Red
Based on 2 reviews
I've not owned or needed a bass combo or amp for several years and have relied totally on headphone amps and amp simulations. I've been mainly playing unplugged at home or I have to use headphones so I've had my eye on the PJB X4 Nannobass for quite a while for those small acoustic jams and more relaxed practicing at home but have been holding back because of the price point, but it was definitely worth pulling the trigger on this purchase. I've even considered buying an acoustic bass but never found one I liked. This Nanobass doesn't disappoint, solid high quality build and the tone is magical. Can't believe how good it sounds for such a small combo. The bluetooth and line-in works perfectly with good volume controls to get a good mix for jamming along to tracks. Only bad thing was...
Yuer BA-10E Portable Amp BT

Does what it does for the low price. Cannot do clean channel or just very faint. Dirty channel isn't a very clear distortion either. But good enough for classes and small jam with friends. Props for Bluetooth reliability. Can have a track playing along on Spotify as a background while UG rolling. Props for 3.5mm headphone jack as well. Not disturbing roommate anymore while he's asleep. No effects like echo, delay, AI backtrack, etc, but for a small fraction of that sparky thing I'd settle =)
Quilter Aviator Cub UK 112 Combo
Based on 1 reviews
I was hooked on my not so old Roland blues cube 30, sound, perfect for my style of music, gypsy jazz with my lady singer, into r&r, & easily does all my gigs. My new quilter cub UK has my Roland sound and much more. I enjoy the cub uk's sweet magnetic pickup sound. On board eq is not really needed, but nice to have. The quilter cub just sounds great, from acoustic clean, right through to hendrix. Almost bedroom friendly too, Happiest with (magnetic p'ups)...my solid has EMG hi Z p'ups, which drive the Cub even deeper into its heavenly sound. I'm not really into the different amp inputs, I only need "that sound", the cub has it.. The quilter build is all round, good quality, maybe the control knobs move too easily, the combo cover included is nice....
Phil Jones X4 Nanobass WH

I have this little amp for 5 months now.. I bought it only for practicing in low volumes and I wanted something that sounds good and is small. I was not convinced by other similarly sized amps so I went for this and I haven't regretted at all! - volume is more than enough for my needs - sound is very good, eq bass/mid/tremble is quite effective - is VERY small and light, I can move it everywhere whenever I need in the house. I just have a spare power cable and use it. - Line-in and Bluetooth-in are very convenient with independent volume control. Actually I have it in my desk next to my monitor speakers. I have a sound card with 2 different outs so I have connected my main out to the monitors and the second to the amp (to the line in). I can use it for both playing and listening stuff...
