Crown Xti 1002
Power Amplifier

Solid amplifier for HF duties with good DSP
We use these for driving bi-amp monitor wedges mostly, usually the 1002 for the HF sections and the 4002 for 12/15" drivers. The crossover section is solid and the output voltage limit is handy too for preserving drivers on dry hire jobs. I have tried one on bass duties and they don't quite pack the punch of their iTech big brothers on LF duties however they have a nice clear sound for HF and mid range duties.
Lightweight chassis but solid and rugged, they've resisted being in racks that get stuck in and out of vans without any issues.
The only slight weakness is that Crown have discontinued a very useful gadget called the USB - X which allows the Xti series to be networked alongside the iTech amps over ethernet rather than just via local USB. Thankfully I still have a couple of these devices otherwise they would only be programmable via the front panel or via local laptop on a short USB lead.
Wouldn't recommend the sub synth feature, it seems like a way to try and imitate the performance of the older MacroTech series but it doesn't produce what I'd call clean results. The 6002 however is closer to the itech series for low frequency duties if that is what you need.
