Great flatwound strings for guitar!
I'm a recent convert to flatwound strings, the tone of which I find really classy. You'll maybe know that flatwound strings are becoming very popular with electric basses again, the reason being that they give a smoother, very punchy and warm tone which is much more focused in the fundamentals.
You are maybe thinking that with a guitar they would be too "jazzy", for a lack of better terms...well, let me tell you that they are much more versatile than you would think, they have a nice full tone which is to die for even with distortions and overdriven tones, too! This set lets you experiment even with lower tunings, thanks to the bigger gauge and higher tension. I love these
Excellent
Excellent strings worth the money
Lovely flatwounds for your 7-string
I've been using Daddario for 4 years now. The quality is really good and very consistent which is really important!
Used it in my DeArmond S67 7-string guitar and the tension is just right for my tuning (A-E-A-D-G-B-E).
Daddario Flatwounds
I bought these strings to allow my recently purchased Les Paul 7 string to be downtuned. I noticed straight out of the packet how nice they felt, and when I fitted them they showed the same characteristics- much kinder on the fingertips than most strings, and the tone they give to the guitar is amazing. I personally only really play metal, but they even lend a dark tone to metal playing, which I wouldn't really have expected from flatwounds. In G standard tuning they give a really ground trembling growl on the lower notes, but keep their clarity in the mid range and higher up for lead parts. These strings were well worth the money, and they've lasted way longer than my other strings due to the metal ribbon used to wind them. Overall they give great versatility and play like a charm. I would definitely recommend them.
Great strings!
Playing in a band that tunes as low as A# and G, keeping tension on strings can be difficult, but the Jazz lights held up perfectly, and lasted through recording, tours and general playing, a new favourite for me.
