Why use anything else
Good price, good everything else.
Great strings for Baritone Guitar
I just put these strings on my baritone guitar - a Danelectro - and they feel really smooth. I don't know if I can better sound than this, but if so, it would be a lot more expensive.
Great value strings for low tunings
As an owner of 2 baritone guitars I have used these strings for low tunings and I can say that given the price which is a little lower than the Ernie Ball Slinky Baritone, when compared they feel more premium.
The sound is a little less warm but the tonality is more defined.
All in all they are great strings but the problem that I encountered is that the thicker string of the set is a .065 gauge in comparison with the Ernie Ball Baritone strings which offer a .072 gauge that worked better for tunings below A as I achieved better tension and stability.
In conclusion they do the job really well as long as you don't get too low.
Waiting for its turn
I've bought this set as an alternative for EXL 158 baritone Light Gauge and I want to tune it down to A tuning or open A (now I play baritone tuned in B). I'm really curious how it will sound, yet I have to record some songs with D'Addario EXL158 baritone light gauge set first, which is pleasure to play. So I hope for the best, as with other D'Addario strings.
Love the sound of my baritone with these strings
Love the sound of my baritone with these strings
XL: XL quality for XL sound.
Abbath uses these strings. Anti-rast, heavy sound and as he says: "They taste gooood, ha!"
Good choice for baritone
Not disappointed with the clarity gain with this new set of string for my Hagstrom Viking baritone. Good low end and sparking high end. Brilliance certainly go away with time (as always) but they still sound pretty good if you don't want to change it all the time.
Great strings for down-tuners
I use these string on regular scale length guitars, tuned to C and B standard.
These strings have the perfect tension for these tunings on "regular" guitars, and as with all Daddario strings, they have a good sound and they last a decent amount of time.
I highly recommend these strings to anyone who's been looking for strings to tune low.
Most Useful String-set
I am using this set combined with a single string 010 from daddario to my 7-string mayones gtm7 tuned to drop A. This set delivers a very crispy and bright tone while maintaining a very powerful bottom end. Recommended to anyone who wants to drop down but have a tight sounding guitar with perfect intonation.

Great strings! Bought them to try out some heavy strings as I'm normally playing with 8's-9's. I really like those strings a lot, especially for playing riffs. For soloing I wouldn't use them, but as long as I've bought them for fun I really enjoy writing stoner/doom riffs at the moment!
They just fit into my Gibson SG Standard - gauge '15 probably wouldn't. So if you play with Gibson, strings should fit without any need to drill holes, what I definitely wouldn't do.
Mostly tuned to drop A# as it feels best for me - You should go tone up or down without any problems, but haven't tried it out yet.
