Ideal tension for short scale bass

I bought these for my 30" short scale bass. They required the nut for the E string to be widened slightly to accommodate the .120 gauge string.

The extra tension works particularly well with the short scale bass, which naturally has less tension that full scale basses. Standard gauge string can be floppy on a shorter scale but these remain nice and tight even using the Hipshot D tuner to drop D and even low B!! The Nickel strings provide a warm tone. The balanced tension across all strings feels good.

Perfect tension!

I needed to use this set on a 6 string bass, tuned 3 steps down (C# Standard).

They were used as 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th strings.

The tension and relation between strings are finally good! It removes that problem of having your D string too wobbly or too stretched.

The volume and brightness are also very good. They come wrapped in a sealed plastic bag to maintain its freshness from the factory. It´s very disappointing when you put some new strings that are already dead/muddy so this sealing prevents that.

It´s a pity that they don´t make this set on Stainless Steel or for Super Long scales.

I have a 35" bass, which I can also put the strings through body but it won´t fit, they´re too short. I need to install them through the bridge!

Best strings

I think that those strings are just the best string on the markert. Good price, bright sound and excelent durability, those strings also stay bright for a long time, especially when you are using cleaners.

As usual

Great as usual. These are the usual strings I use and are great for drop tunings. I use a Fender Duff Mckagan Bass and tune down to Drop B and these hold very well. Never snapped on me and stay in tune very well even on such a low tuning.

Good Strings

These Strings have a nice bright Sound, i use'em on my Yamaha BB-424 and they do what i expect from them: they allow me to differentiate between my strokes even when humiliating my bass with a pick at 220 BPM. Aside from the clear Sound they produce a high enough tension to not cause a wobbly feel (at an Dropped-Cis tuning). The structure of the strings is good, not notably smooth but also not raw as sandpaper. The last point to note is the durability, wich is good and approximately in the same range as other strings i played before like Earnie Ball Hybrid Slinky or the Lemmy Signature dunlop strings, but at a lower price.
