Martin Guitars MA-530 Authentic Acoustic Set
Based on 7 reviews
I change my strings on a regular basis because on average I perform 2-3 times per week. I have used many types of strings in the past for my martin OM acoustic. However these light gauge strings are great and originally bought them because i needed some light strings as my fingers were sore due to playing 3 nights on the run. However I really like them, nice & warm, great sound, great for rhythm playing and solos! I would recommend these, and so far they've lasted well without any string fade, or change in sound.
Daddario XTAPB1047-3P Extra Light
Based on 1 reviews
Dear Madam, Dear Sir, Thank you for asking me to review the products I bought from you. The Daddario extra light strings were quickly put on my 50 year old acoustic Fender. The treble strings are bright and easy to bend. However, what struck me the most was the clarity of the bass strings (D,A, E). There is no question about these strings being infinitely brighter than my previous extra light ones. These will be my go-to strings for the acoustic guitar henceforth. I find them excellent and strongly recommend them.
Elixir Nanoweb Extra Light Acoustic

This is the first time I'm using light gauge on my acoustic. It is very satisfying to have those string under my fingers. It makes me play more relax and the strings ring freely. The sound is round and full. I used 12-53 and 13-56 Elixirs before and I used to down tune a tone or sometimes two tones to have rich lows. With the light gauge I do somewhat the opposite: regular tuning and transposing my chords to the lower part of the neck around 7th and 8th fret to 12th fret. Something to try to enrich my vocabulary. I recommend.
Elixir Nanoweb Extra Light Phosphor

A friend recommended these strings to me a while ago. Although they're a little pricier than your standard set of strings, the coating means that they genuinely last 3/4 times as long! And they sound brand new for ages! I've had my set on my acoustic (which I play for about 2 hours a week) for a year now, and they still sound as good as the day I put them on! The extra that you'll pay for these strings is definitely worth the money. Not nearly as costly as 3 sets of standard strings, but sounds better for longer!
Ernie Ball 2151 Earthwood Phosphor Bronze

Having tried the 80/20 variant a long time ago, I got these since I prefer PB. I wish I could say I was pleasantly surprised, but deep down I was expecting them to be good. They are good. They are more than good. They have a real nice, balanced sound to them, they are thin enough where you can bend the 2nd and 3rd string a full step from the 8th fret up; they have a plain 3rd, which definitely adds a different sound to the strumming, making it slightly more metallic. I had a lot of fun playing them and would buy them again.
Daddario EJ10

Those strings are good, but they lost their "day 1 sound" very fast (in about 3 or 4 weeks). I have had gauges which sounded better after this time. But the quality remained - I did not change the strings yet and still have those on my guitar (after around 4-5 months or so). They play very well altough the sound isn't that good as before - which does not mean it is bad at all. Just not as good as before. You don't need to have any concerns about buying these, the EJ10s are good and affordable strings!
Savarez Argentine 1610

Bought a Sigma OM some weeks ago. Changed the strings to a set of Labella 010 on the guitar upon arrival. Great strings. I play fingerstyle and chords in open E tuning with my thumb, mostly. As the Labella's are great strings, the guitar still got a mid hump sound that is warm (and gentle) - but for my style, the guitar missed something in the treble register. As I need more attack in the sound as I play with my thumb, I gave the Savarez Argentine a try. What a relief it was! The guitar sounds way better, as the mid hump was replaced with less warmth and the treble register is much more noticeble without sounding harsh. This is using my thumb when playing. Do not play with a pick, so this has not been tried. But without a pick - these strings are gold! Even fingerstyle. The guitar sounds...
Harley Benton Coated Phosphor 010 Anti Rust
Based on 46 reviews
When I first saw the price for these strings I had my doubts about the quality, but after playing them for one season I must say I am really impressed. Similar Anti rust strings usually cost a lot more and if you have to change them on regular basis that can be quite expensive for a working musician. I play 100-150 gigs a year and costs for the strings can be quite big. With these you get the quality and a superb tone at a resonable price. I must mention one thing - these strings do not sound bright as some others - and that suits me just fine. After using a lot of different brand strings over the years I was always searching for that quality/price ratio that would give me the sound that I need at a resonable price - and Harley Benton strings have met all my expectations. Each string in...
Daddario EZ900

I have used D'Addario strings now for years. Every now and again I get convinced by other guitarists to try another brand (Ernie Ball, Martin, Fender, Roto Sound etc) but none provide me with the same tone as these boys do. The Phosphor Bronze wound strings for acoustic guitar have a clear but mellow tone to them. The may be cheap but don't be put off by the price (they're a damn sight more expensive in off line music stores). They have a clear bottom end and not to bright top end, but give a lovely deep, rich mellow sound and are easy to play. I would choose D'Addarios every time and Ive yet to find a guitar string to better them - even the more expensive ones dont do it for me.
Pyramid Western Strings 010-047
Based on 29 reviews
These Pyramid Acoustic Strings are really some of the best strings. I have tried many different ones of late and these are very balanced, great sustain, soft feel, and don't seem to wear very much. Stays in tune (once stretched). I always stretch strings up two whole notes then bring back down to the desired pitch. Great feel and sustain, just an awesome set of strings. To me, they sound even better than the Martin strings I used to use. Pyramid Westerns stings offer a bright, crisp tone, with a full sound due to the hand wound phosphor bronze wrap wire. Nice! Try them, you might like them! Great value for money!
