Perfect for a nickel allergy!

Frankly, I never had the choice between nickel and stainless steel strings. Any strings containing nickel immediately results in intense blistering all over my fingertips, making playing the guitar mostly impossible.

According to Daddario, these are completely nickel free. I have noticed immediately that it takes a lot of playing before blisters occur, mostly due to the fact I need to change my frets to something nickel-free also. It's unfortunate, but these strings are super awesome!

They are very bright compared to my previous 9 guage nickel wound strings, but I don't necessarily hate the sound. Personally I prefer a warmer sound, but these are the best I can do. If you like something bright and quite twangy, these are definitely for you.

The colour coding is phenomenal! Super handy and personally I think it looks quite fun. These strings offer phenomenal sustain when played through an amp.

I really would recommend these for a bright tone which cuts through a mix quite nicely! Amazing for those fellow guitarists whom struggle with the terrible nightmare of a nickel allergy.

Good sound

I played Daddario for over 26 years now. For my guitar as well as my basses. Same good quality year after year. And environmentaly friendly package. Thumbs up!

Great durability, "different" sound.

There is not much to say about Daddarios. I tried many different brands but I keep returning to Daddarios as they offer top quality at the right price. The Pro Steels do offer increased durability as they oxidize quite slowly.

They sound very bright with an aggressive attack. Whether you like it or not is a matter of personal taste.

I normally use .008-.038 nickel round wound on a Tele. That's what I've been using for years, but after trying other stainless steels, I decided to see if these would be even brighter sounding. They certainly are ! The main reason for not trying them sooner was that I feared they may be a bit harsh and cutting, but they aren't. They are crisp and twangy. That may be more due to the '52 pickups I'm using, but the point is that they complement the pickups you have. So if you want to clean up your sound, whatever you have, give these strings a try !

I notice that they don't appear to be available in multi-packs, like 3's or 10's - that's rather disappointing.
