Impressive Sound Improvement

To be honest, it's my first hardware-compressor and especially for slapping, popping, tapping... it's a major improvement to my sound. You can adjust the behaviour of the potentiometers through the program which is nice, I'm sticking to the original setting though which gives me already a wide variety of different compressions.

Great tone "normalisation", mighty tone improvement, attack / release-wise.. Not much more to say.. this thing stays..

Simply amazing

The compressor's versatility is outstanding. It's so easy to make a great sound. I use it before my distrortion/eq pedal and I get my bass's full potential.

With the darkglass suite you can also adjust more specifically what you're compressing with each mode. Guitar mode is a cool feature too but I haven't used it thoroughly. 100% recommended.

A staple in my chain

This thing is incredible. The amount of options for shaping the tone, compression and feel is hard to come by. Darkglass really puts a lot of effort into every pedal they make, this is no exception.

The knobs feel solid and stay in place when I move them. The touch buttons have a nice sensitivity and the 3 different compression presets give a ton of options for creating your own sound.

Just like the standard Hyper Luminal Comp pedal (which is friggin' bananas) only black... so it's better ;)

The best compressor out there

Darkglass always puts out the best gear one can get and Hyper Luminal is no different. This tiny little stompbox is filled with black magic from finland that shapes your low end like none other pedals out there.

This does the trick!

What can I say, Darkglass has some of the best bass pedals out there. Easy to use, loads of options, beautiful design and most important fantastic sound. Would recommend!

Incredible

The Hyper Luminal is a modern piece of artistry.

Its mode button is all the money. You can have a very transparent compressor or not if you like. Very easy to use

Also looks amazing! The blue lights, the touch buttons.. and it comes in matt black too?

Excellent Compressor

So far this compressor has exceeded my expectations. Having previously used the MXR M87, TC Spectracomp and some of the compressors on the Helix - something was missing. I can honestly say that this pedal has delivered exactly what it promised. With the compressor on, the change was instantly recognisable but this doesn't affect the tone in any way. It's a very versatile unit and dialling in a sound I liked was quick and easy. I had narrowed it down to either this or the Cali76 Compact Bass however, the built in FET mode on the Hyper Luminal does a great job here and there are plenty of other options to choose from. I highly recommend this pedal and can't see it leaving my board anytime soon. Certainly on the expensive side but absolutely worth it in my opinion. This is my first Darkglass pedal and I will definitely be trying more.
