Denon AH-D9200

Wonderful allrounded sound signature with a lovely bass-tilt

At first, the Denons were average sounding when compared with the bombastic Fostex TH 909 (with a well paired amp, otherwise these are a nightmare). However, with further listening and exercising the new bio-cellulose drivers, these grew on me more and more with each day along with some brain burn in.

Denon's new totl outing plays it safe when compared to the Fostex. These are not amp picky and have low impedance which will not cause you any issues in finding an excellent dac/amp to pair them with. I've tried them on the Chord stack, several DAPs such as the iBasso DX300 and Cayin N6ii and they sounded wonderful!

If you love a balanced, clear and slightly bass titled sound signature you owe it to yourself to check these out! It was not love from the first listen for me, but I found that these bring up a ton of details from the tracks that I listen to and they do it effortlessly to boot!

Classic Fostex sound signature

This headphone is a return to form by Denon with a classic Fostex sound signature. It has a small boost to the treble but essentially retains the warmth and full bass of the previous Fostex design. Soundstage and imaging is good for a closed back. Build quality is superlative but the design is not comfortable for my head as the headband does not extend far enough for the earcups to sit properly over my ears. Would recommend for people with smaller heads.
