Great way to measure noise

If you want to measure noise, this is a great device! Like many other reviewers, upon receiving this device, we set about measuring everything: background noise, conversational volume, speech with headphones on, the television, ambient street noise, the refrigerator, the PA, a Fender Twin cranked above 3 - the opportunities are limitless! Best of all you have evidence to account for your own faulty perception: "am I being too loud?" and someone else's - "are THEY being too loud?"

Tres utile

Will give you dB for your money

It is very simple, quit ugly but works for calibrating my studio. Cheap and made out of plastic. Good product considering the price.

Works great during live concerts

I always use this db meter during live concerts. It helps me not to make anyone deaf.

Brilliant

I bought this meter for my church. It is really handy and it helps to control the volume and it helps not to make the sound too high. It is really good and I can see the difference it made after using it. I totally recommend it if you play in Church or a band and you want to keep your hearing in good condition for so long.

Great buy

Robust, feels like it was built from quality materials, really easy to read the display, the buttons are comfortable to handle, and the whole device is so well designed that even a toddler can handle it. A little bit bigger in size than expected (that's what she said), but still pretty portable. Probably the size is the only downside of the Digital Sound 8928, as the price is also more than affordable. I'm using it for studio sound penetration level metering, and house / room sound isolation test, and various sound level checks, and so far it works like a charm. With the feature of logging and keeping the highest / lowest record you can place it in a desired place, do the test and check the results after. It's really handy if you do test alone, or when soundproofing a room, so you are making the "noise" inside, and have to measure from the outside at the same time.

Or when you're playing an instrument and you need both hands. You can measure exhaust sound levels, amplifier outputs, concert hall levels, road noise, almost every sound level. It's even fun to play around with it, I measured almost everything in the first few days when I got it. One more to the pros list: the battery seems to last forever in this thing, I don't know how but it never dies. Totally worth every cent, 100 percent recommended.

Easy SPL Measurements

Its a nice, simple product that does the job. Takes a little while to start up (10 seconds or so).

I like that you can select A or C-weighting, and the peak-hold is useful too. It would be nice if there was the option for flat measurements (rather than weighted), but that's pretty minor, as C-weighting is fairly close.

The display is clear, and good in low lighting conditions, too.

I'd recommend this product as a useful little tool.
