Not for me ..

I didnt like these strings to be honest . The quality of them is fine , they are well built and of a solid construction, no problems there but I really did not like the feel of the strings, They are pretty rough to the touch , but worse still they are very sticky .

They also give off a lot of finger noise which may or may not bother you.

That stickiness hindered my playing of my bass though and made me miss a few notes and this bothers me ... so in the end I just went back to my regular strings.

Sound wise they were fine , bit bright but I'd expect that they would die down a little after they got broken in . The string tension was a bit loose also I thought. I would not buy them again to be honest .

I know lots of people rave about them and say they are the only strings for them but I really didn't find them at all for me.

So I recommend making your own mind up and not going on what others say ..

One mans poison and all that ...

Bright and longlasting

Dr. Strings Hi-beams are great strings the sound is very bright but it still has a nice round low end. They last long not as long as coated strings but still very long and i play about 2-3 hours a day.

Snarling super funky strings!!

Put these on your jazz bass. Marcus Miller here I come! Very bright, but they feel very flexible. They last very long. Sometimes there is a loose winding, you get rattling noise from the string, so not always perfect.

DR HI-Beam Bass Strings

I bought these strings after being recommended to me by a number of bass tutors and fellow bass players, however I can't say I was overly impressed.

I managed to get a good few weeks out of the strings before they started to go dead. I found the strings to have a fairly warm tone, although they lacked any real depth or punch for me. After a month or so, the core inside the G string snapped, rendering the string useless and leaving me to buy a new set altogether.

I won't be buying these strings again, back to Ernie Ball's for me!

DR Bass Strings Hi Beams 045-105

These are the recommended strings for the Fender Marcus Miller Signature Bass. It's a great bass and these strings are perfect for it.

Great Stainless Steels

The strings feel much smoother than other products of stainless steel bass strings.

The sound of the strings is a perfect mixture of highs and mids, so that they are perfect if you are not into the sound of Ernie Ball Cobalts.

As those strings cost very much I hoped they will last long. But it is not as I expected. Within a few days the sound changed and they did not sound that fresh as expected.
