Great sounding strings

I just bought this pair of strings and installed them for a studio recording. The quality of these strings are amazing. They have a nice sound and feel really nice to play on !

They are black and beautiful, but in time the color wears off in the area of the strumming hand. But it's not anything that bothered me in the past, and i bet it won't bother me this time either! i really recommend these strings to anyone! The bass strings are amazing as well! DR make awesome strings with many color choices! I really suggest trying a pair and see if you feel the same way!

They really are beauties but...

They look perfect on my Jackson Monarkh Gloss Black, they sounded really bright and tight at first, but after few hours of playing and also having them for almost a month on.. they started sounding less and less clear and lost their tone that they had when i first put them on. Also if you pick hard or palm mute a lot the coating starts falling off.

The coating comes off as black dust.

I am a fan of DR string and they are still the only brand of strings that I buy, but these black beauties are simply just not worth the money.I bought a set and played them on my strat and the tone is super bright from the moment you put them on (not my preferred tone but not necessarily a bad thing) but darkens after a bit of breaking in. sadly its not only the tone that darkens, its also my strats pickguard and pickups since when play with theses stings, the coating on them comes off as black dust which really stands out and looks awful on a white pickguard, this shouldnt happen at all as the coating should stick to the strings at all time but since it comes off, the strings dont last particularly long, thus defeating the purpose of having coating on them. In my opinion, the black coating is just a gimmick, and a rather expensive one at that. I I do not recommend them at all, if you want a good set of strings, get a set of DR pure blues.
