DR stainless steel drop tune strings are the best on the market
Fantastic strings
I bought these to use with my bass guitar, a 4-string J&D P-bass that at the time was tuned in C standard.
For that tuning these strings were excellent!
The sound, feel and tension were perfect, and they keep their tone a lot longer than D'addardio.
Some time later I adjusted the bass for B-standard and unfortunately the lowest string couldn't quite keep up; it became to wobbly and muddy and forced be to raise the action a bit higher than I'd prefer.
Still, perfect for C standard and above!
Sound massive!
Great set for C# or C standard tuning! Will tune down to B standard if you don't mind the B string to be a little loose.
Strings are on the stiff side to compensate for low tunings, apparently they use a thick hex core. Fairly hard on the fingers, but I got used to that pretty fast, worth the payoff.
Strings are pretty high output with very strong bass and treble response.
Great!!
ddt-65 set is the best you can find if you play drop tuning. i have just bought for my stoner/doom band and felt the difference just at first touch!
Heavy as hell, but ...
I'm using these strings on a 4-string bass tuned to drop B. They are heavy as hell, and sound pretty good. The only downsides are that the low B is a bit floppy and dull compared to the other strings. The bass itself is quite bright, and the other strings sing, but that low B is just dark and angry.
I would consider buying a thicker low B from DR Strings to compensate for the floppiness, but I worry that it might be even duller compared to the string I have now.
