I have broken sticks like these in the past, so wanted something that would last. These feel sturdy in your hands, and easily cope with playing. They have quite hard heads, so do produce more attack when hitting the cymbals. You could even use them on tuned percussion. If you're after something softer for smooth rolls etc, then get the SC2's instead.

These mallets are very well made and make a great sound on all the cymbals I tried! Do everything I need them to! However, I wouldn't necessarily say for the price they make as big of a difference as expected to a standard vibe mallet, but the difference is noticeable! To sum up, if you're willing to spend the extra money and really care about that extra difference in sound, buy these! If not, a Mike Balter Blue or similar would do the trick!

I use the product on drum and especially for solos or cymbals effect. The mallet is quite hard and provide a defined sound allowing the player to move from tom to cymbals and have a really nice crescendo. pros: Price is reasonable compared to competitors, good quality, comfortable size of the stick not to short or wide, good quality of the beater, nice sound on drum cons: the beater sometimes is too hard and the crescendo on cymbals in non perfectly smooth. The wood of the sticks is not 1st class. Good quality for the price price and until now really reliable malled i haven't encountered any problem.

Probably like you are, I was looking for my first pair of mallets. I've played mallets in studio, but never bought a pair. So I decided to buy a cheap pair, in order to just get that cymbal roll sound option at home. And, you know, they do the job. I mean they may not be the best mallet out there, of course. But they're ok. They feel quite comfortable, nothing too special though. The tip is nothing like high end mallets probably but it's ok for 99% of the things you would do in a pop/rock environment. They price is very inviting and after all I can say you wouldn't be disappointed.
