DSM & Humboldt Simplifier Amp/Cab Simulator
Effect Pedal for Electric Guitar

This is a game changer
I'm very fan of DSM & Humboldt products. This one was first I've bought and changed my life:
1. I don't need anymore carry heavy amps. My back hurts after many years of playing.
2. My guitar sounds the same on the stage, on the rehearsal and in the studio.
3. I can record guitar parts in home without paying for studio.
4. Now my guitar don't sound like those on thousand of records. I can get unique sound if I want.
6. It has stereo output, so I can have stereo reverbs and delays in effects chain which sounds outstanding on stage.
7. With proper compression, eq you can have nearly studio quality on stage without hums and feedback.
8. IT'S ANALOG, it gives soft output, no more crispy digital sound.
Not for metal
I do not recommend this for use with hi gein pedals and preamps. I didn't like how the cabinet emulation sounds, I was expecting something like ir impulse but with a cleaner, more transparent sound, unfortunately I couldn't get that from this unit. Perhaps the rest of the functions work fine, but the cabinet emulation was the most important for me.
Excellent recording tool!
I have this alongside the Strymon Iridium and Tech 21 SansAmpGT2 and it does hold its own next to them! The amp sims are great and the advanced features (XLR outs, FX loop) are taking it to the next level. My favorite is still the Iridium (soundwise), but these few distinctive options make it better suited for ampless live gigs.
I needed a amp/cab sim this delivers
its like a swiss army knife integrates well on my pedal board it does so much and its easy to use sounds great
I was very happy with the tonal range and flexibility of the unit in mono and stereo and does a great job with headphones I fed it with a clean patch from my line 6 X3 Pod works very well all I need now is to start recording again
Ok for the price
Totally ok. Lacks the organic feel of an amplifier. Havent tried any other simulator, Maybe its the lack of a cab sim thats the problem.
Best thing is analog
The weird plastic plate with the text seems like a cheap fix. It is packed with functions, but some are just not noticeable. Between this and the iridium I went with this because of the analog circuits
Simply amazing
The Simplifier unit it compact and fit neatly alongside pedals on my board. The build quality is good as far as I can tell. I like the retro switches and styling. It is a compact unit, so could be considered fiddly by some, but for me its perfect.
The tones are really really good, the gain doesn’t go into full on metal territory, but does really hits the spot for an overdriven amp tone. The amp sims give enough variety, the power amp / cab sim settings are more subtle. The mic placement knobs widen up the sound nicely.
One thing I love about this unit is the effects loop. Being able to put my delays and reverbs in the loop again, is a great feature.
Connectivity wise it covers all bases - i.e. XLR and jacks.
All in all I love this little unit.
Great little piece of kit
Yes, the writing is tiny, but you get a feel for the layout of this little pedal pretty quickly. I've been using it with headphones for practice purposes. Options are pretty simple in terms of cab, amp and tube combinations, but the output and tonal variance is excellent. the EQ and power amp controls have a huge bearing on tone and interaction with your guitar. I have yet to run this pedal through an amp head to see how it fairs. I have noticed AC hum with both single coil and humbucker pickups when sitting near to and facing the pedal. Easily rectified by facing away from the pedal while seated. I should also mention that it works very well with pedals. Overall it's a great little package.
One of the best things I've ever bought
Cannot stress enough how good this thing is, not only in it's sound but how ergonomic it is; so many useful features yet so compact. The sound of this thing is insane, the flexibility in cabs, mic positions and EQ etc lets you twiddle for hours, full stereo FX loop and stereo out. If your thinking of buying this, just buy it and ponder no longer... It's so sick hahaha
My only one tripe is that it would be even better if it was stereo in and I could run my synths into it, but is a guitar pedal so I'll let them off - 10/10
Fantastic
Really happy with my purchase. Very easy to use and it sounds fantastic. Easy to get sound straight out of the box and I find it much easier to use than digital equivalents.
It also works really well with my pedals and I also use the headphone output a lot for home use
