Touché really meet and exceeded my expectations. The level of articulations it brings to hardware synth (those funky basses and leads!) and to sampled instruments (i.e. Kontakt based brass and strings instruments) is just outstanding. CV out works great with my external filter as well. And I will be able easily integrate it into any CV set-up if I will go Eurorack way someday. I had some small difficulties in the beginning as its firmware has to be updated, Lié need to refresh plug-ins list in order to see them and manual didn't cover Presonus Studio One set-up which is my main DAW (besides C9 and LPX), but Expressive E support was responsive and sent me some helpful instructions with screenshots. I bought this unit with the intention of trying to get that crunchy distorted drum rhythmn in a lot of electronic music from the 90s. That was very quickly achieved. After reading the manual (which is not the easiest thing to follow) I realised there were loads of different possibilities for this unit. Alternatives to running a drum machine through it were: guitar, synth, mic etc. I particularly like putting a guitar or synth through it as the sherman can give some real sharp highs and thick lows to add clarity to a mix as well as the possibility of some really dirty distortion. You can get some pretty awesome weird synth sounds from the sherman if you get the modulation going. If you can get it self modulating then all sorts of new possibilities are available. I bought this for the ju-06 and it is a great accessory for the synth. The unit is made of a metal chassis and is very solid. i felt the instructions on using the stant could have been a bit clearer but it is neat the way you can tilt the synth at different angles or have if flat down. Playability is good with the velocity sensitive keys and it provides good protection for the synth module. it powers off a cable plugged into the back of the synth and installation of the cable is pretty easy. A feature i would have liked to see on this would have been some octave buttons for changing the octave of the keyboard but this can be done through the extra functions on the synth itself if you need to drop outside the octaves available on the physical buttons. Since buying this I've used it a lot for sound design. It fits in nicely with workflowand it's great to have a synth-style filter that's easily usable for non-synth inputs. I've used it on already existing tracks, connected it up to my microbrute and also my electric violin. It's packed with useful features, the envelope generator works well on either the main sound source (great at detecting peaks) and I especially like the side-chain input where I can feed in an existing track to drive the syntyh output. I got some great synthetic drum sounds from a Doepfer Dark Energy using this. I haven't yet used the CV/Gate input but I imagine that's equally useful. And it has sample-and-hold too, lovely for getting those stranger noises and, in one case, an ostinato! The quality of sound is...

It?s not cheap but it?s worth every penny! Amazing unit, by far the most used and favourite effects unit in my setup. The build quality is superb - it is built like a tank.
