These are my "go to" strings. You can't go wrong with these! The sound is great and they have a decent durability. I have not broken that many of the G# (0.11) strings that are a pretty common issue with other Pedal Steel strings. The strings are halfwound which reduces a lot of friction when sliding your tonebar across the neck and it also helps with reducing a lot of unwanted noise and rattle. These strings sound good with both singlecoil and humbucker pickups. I recommend these strings to anyone playing the Pedal Steel Guitar and want a set of strings that they can rely on.

The only negative is that the winding on the ball-end is a bit too long and ends up rubbing against the axle for the levers on Duesenbergers multibender bridge. The strings used with the bender levers thus break far more often than they should. Plain strings with shorter winding like for example standard d'Addario electric-strings last a lot longer. This is also a problem that Duesenberg can solve in the design of the Multibender if the slot in the lever for the string is not cut all the way through to the hole for the axle. Then the string would rest statically against the remaining material in the lever instead of rubbing a against the axle every time the lever is moving.

Having recently bought the Harley Benton Slider guitar and deciding to make a new"nut"as it was not possible to buy a left handed version,it made sense to fit new strings.Being new to this type of guitar it was a case of taking a chance on the strings to fit-so I chose the"Pyramid Custom Set". They are really good with a bright but not strident tone, seem to hold tuning well and make me happy that I seem to have made the right choice.I would have no hesitation in buying the same make and gauges again.

From a novice perspective, and I am definitely a novice on the lap steel, these strings sound just great to me. They have a nice resonance and the slide moves around on them with ease. The tone is deep and quite earthy, not particularly "bright" (although they are not lacking in treble they don't sound overly trebly as some new strings can, which I don't really like) Bought these for my Harley Benton lap steel and they suit it perfectly well and were easy to fit. I'm not experienced with more expensive strings but from a sonic point of view and with knowing how a lap steel "should" sound (as opposed to how it sounds when I attempt to play it) I would say these strings are a very worthwhile investment. I'm not sure on the longevity of the strings as yet but I'd...
