CAZZ Snare 13"x6" Maple Natural Satin

I've been using this snare for a few months now and am able to say it's easily one of the best snares I've used. Excellent build quality flawlessly cut bearing edges and finishing. I have used a number of stave shell drums before, all of them more expensive-some by much more, this Cazz snare more than competes with any of them. Depending on head selection, tuning and snare settings this drum has a very broad range. I have yet to find something I dislike about this snare. I highly recommend as a primary or secondary snare.
Ludwig 13"x03" Piccolo Snare

I've had this snare for a week now, and so far I'm very impressed. The sound is great, experimenting with tuning can get you many different tones from this drum, and the internal dampener (or whatever it's called) can get you a really dead sound (which I imagine will be great for recording, especially in a small room). I have only used this snare for practicing so far. The snare wires and drum heads don't seem to be the greatest, but with a ~50 euro investment you'd be able to get it set up real nice. The finish looks great, and I love that it has the old Ludwig badge (although it's black and white instead of the classic blue and olive.) Again, I haven't been using this snare for long, but so far it performs so much better than a 170€ piece of gear. I would recommend this...

DW PDP 13"x07" Walnut Snare

The snare is seriously heavy with its 20 layers of wood, as consequence it needs a stiff snare stand, especially if you play hard. The supplied heads are cheap ones and the substitution of both of them will improve drastically the sound, which however need to be perfectly tuned to give its best. Sound is woody and warm, maybe more adapt for blues and rock players rather than funky, where a more brilliant sound is generally required. I am using in medium tuning for a fat sound. I love the results, despite the volume is lower than expected. Overall a solid and well made product, which combine the higher pitch of 13" and the full-body sound of a 07". The snare strainer mechanism is very solid, smooth and quiet. I would definitely recommend it as snare drum for many music genres!
