Loving these heavy strings!

I'm buying this .068 gauge string again because I'm just loving its qualities; these are rich in harmonics, have that nice full tone with good tension because of the heavier gauge, which will let you easily experiment with lower tunings without problems, but they still have a nice blend of treble for some nice twang and wonderful cleans in my opinions. They seem to retain great clarity with overdriven tones, too!

Bought this one for my custom 7 string Schecter to use as a heaviest string for DAFCGDG tuning with Nanoweb Heavy set.

I love the tone and the clarity. The durability is worth the extra price.

Great strings

Elixir strings are best ones I used so far. Don't hesitate to buy their single strings - they come in a small unsealed envelopes, just like other single strings, but nanoweb coating does it's job and protects string tone for long time. I use .68 string with Nanoweb Light or Medium 6-string sets for a drop G tuning (7-string) and they work awesome together. I highly recommend these strings.

The go-to replacement

I used to be somewhat sceptical with regard to coated strings, but after trying an Elixir set on my acoustic and loving them, I opted to try Elixir‘s .68 for the lowest string on my seven string. You know how the low stings often lose sparkle first? Growing dull and lifeless before the rest of the set is due for a change? Single strings from Elixir really solve that problem: swapping out the bottom sting for one of these, provides not only a clean bright tone, but also a very extended playing life. Highly recommended!
