Pretty amazing
I play very dynamic compositions on a Music Man Stingray. I've always wondered what a compressor would do to my sound if I played finger style, muted thumb and slap/pop in quick succession. I have to say this is my first compression effect pedal and with minimum config it just works wonders giving me a very even output without losing feel as I can mix in the original signal with the compressed signal. Great product all around!
Best I've used
I've been playing for a long time and played many compressors, some very nices ones, and i have to say the Empress beats them all.
So well built, obvious controls and well thought out features.
I found it to dial in a great sound just from the manual examples which are also great starting points to find your own sound.
There's a reason you are seeing these pop up on so many pedal boards!
very very happy!
This is my first Empress Effects pedal and I'm pretty sure it's not gonna be the last one.
The building quality is very good...it's sturdy and solid..not just the case, but also the knobs etc.
It has many features that are not a surprise for me... In fact, they're some of the reasons that convinced me to choose this one...the wet/dry knob is one of them, but also all the "standard" compressor controls (attack, release, etc), and the input/GR meters.
What surprised me is the "tone colour" selector. I knew it was there of course, but I didn't imagine it could change the sound so much, and I think it's a very good thing to have different options for different situations and different instruments.
Oh, and it sounds amazing btw!! :)
Beautifully sounding compressor
It's a very clean and detailed compressor and gives you fine control of your sound. You can probably follow the examples from the booklet, just plug-n-play and sound great, but I feel I will be fine tuning this pedal for a while to get the exact control that I want.
Definitely recommend it.
Do not look any further!
Research was done, reviews were read and all options i need are in finger reach. Transparent, agressive if You want it, sidechain option is a killer and tone shaping is spot on.
Save your self some time and tone and get it.
