Very good

Got this guitar just because I always wanted an SG and needed a guitar in standart tuning for learning purposes (all my other guitars are tuned down).

The SG came perfectly setup. Action is low, intonation is spot on. All I needed to to was tu tune it a bit and that's it. Finish looks great, frets are good.

If cheap guitars were this good when I started out, it would've made my life so much easier!

Not terrible for the asking price but ...

cheap guitar, feels cheap, especially the neck and board. Feels like a paper guitar, not solid build at all. At this price point any Harley Benton will offer superior quality

Excellent beginner guitar or modding platform.

I bought this guitar to help teach my 7 year old how to play guitar.

Overall the guitar feel nice in your hands. The matte finish has a pleasant texture to it and the back of the neck feels smooth.

Out of the box the guitar had a very bad set-up (which in my opinion is to be expected). It had really high action combined with a convex bow in the neck. However these issues are easily fixed with adjustments to the bridge/tailpiece and truss rod, if you know what you are doing.

The nut was cut nicely but the slots were still a little high for my liking, so I filled that down a tiny amount.

There was no major sharp fret edges but I did roll the edges and also sanded the fretboard as it felt rough under the fingers.

I also gave the frets a polish while I was at it.

All in all, I spent around 2 hours setting up the guitar and now it plays very nicely.

If you are buying this as a beginner, I would recommend either taking it to a guitar tech and getting them to set it up, or alternatively you can do some research and learn how to set it up yourself.

All the hardware and pickups are okay. Not great, not bad, just okay.

My only issue with the guitar is the fretboard material. It is too bright for me compared to rosewood and the texture was very rough until I sanded it.

For the money, the guitar is great, once you are aware that you will need to set the guitar up a little. Which in my opinion should be expected for any guitar.

Once the action and neck relief are set, then you will have a very playable guitar that sounds decent and looks awesome.

Dream Guitar for a fraction of the price

The new Epiphone series is unreal, affordable and most importantly unrivaled quality for the price!

The Epiphone SG is light, but not flimsy, it has a solid wooden body with beautiful ebony finish

The action is ideal for anyone looking to go heavy and ideal for palm muting with the slightly raised bridge

Not to mention the duel pickups are crisp and clean, great sound

New strings took some warming up before it began to sound clean but other than that I would recommend this to beginners, intermediates, and even pros looking to get a very nice guitar for their collection on the cheap!
