Ernie Ball 2221 5-stars Reviews
Great strings
These strings are amazing as long as you don´t tune down or play really heavy handed fast (Slayer fast) riffs these are amazing. You just really can´t go wrong with Ernie Balls
great strings
Well, this string is my choice for a pretty long time. I like the tone that it gives to me and I also fint it easy to play on this strings. But these apply only when the strings are new (mostly 1 or 2 weeks). After some time passes, the tone gets lost and the strings get very rusty (if it is a problem for you). Actually this might be caused by the city I live which is very humid.
About strength, I have never seen any of this strings broken (I haven't seen also in 0.09 set) so it makes me feel free while bending wildly.
My choise since 2005
Ive been using these strings since 2005, and not going to selected any other strings anymore - there strings are durable and are keeping tones longer than others - would classify these to be beter than many competetive products in this area.....
Best value for money by far!!
amazing sound, amazing handling, durability, quality...all!!!! ernie ball for life!
Awesome
I'm a beginner and somebody suggested that I should change the chords. So I did, and I used these. I'm not experienced enough to comment about the sound, but they certainly are good quality.
Perfectly good sounding strings
I have always turned to Ernie's for my strings, i have used many different ones but non seem to give me that tone that i enjoy from Ernies. I have several guitars i use Ernies on ranging from:
- Standard
- Beefy
- Cobalt
- Not even Slinky
I prefer the Cobalt strings the most as they sound amazing however i only put that on my main guitar and the rest get the normal Ernie strings. They are bright and vibrant, the strings, with my type of playing they tend to last 2 to 4 weeks before i start wanting to change them, this can vary on person to person as i know my friend replaces his strings every 6 months, i don't know how as mine become rusted beyond playablity after 5 weeks.
Great overall strings, they are cheaper than most for reasons however as everyday strings and so on, you can't go wring with them.
Hundreds of rockstars can't be wrong
Plenty of well known popular guitarists trust in these strings. If you tried them you know why. I tried a lot of different strings, but always came back to Ernie Ball. They are not the cheapest ones but worth the money.
My favourite and the best strings ever made.
I have tried many strings before getting the set free with my ESP. I have not bought any other brand since. I have it on all my electric guitars, even the sentimental ones I am collecting. .... These strings do not rust easily, good sound and feel, sustain harmonics..You can buy more expensive guitar strings, just not better guitar strings.
Old Faithful Strings!
I've been playing guitar for more than 40 years and for most of that time I have used Ernie Ball strings on my electric guitars. I've tried the others but I always come back to the EBs.
The gauge I use most is Regular Slinky with a .10 top E, which I use on my Stratocaster and Telecaster when tuned to standard pitch. When I plan to keep a guitar tuned bown half a step to Eb then I switch to the Ernie Ball Power Slinky strings with the .11 gauge top E string.
I have always found Ernie Ball strings to be the most reliable and consistent electric guitar strings I have tried. I've also found that they give good balance across the six strings, with no incongruously loud strings. Others may come and go, but these are the ones for me.
nice strings
these "ernieball strings" are very good,
they have a very bright and very defined sound.
they have a lot of durability.
they result quite well from jazz to metal.
I'm very happy
Great Quality Strings
I use these strings on all my guitars (all my electric guitars at least) and I have to say, that they are my favourite guitar strings around. First of all, they sound good. They are brilliant and have a solid bottom end. The feeling when you play is also great and they stay "fresh" for a pretty long time. Depending on the usage of my guitar(s), I change the strings every two to three months. Sometimes I use them even longer. I really like them, not only sound-wise, but I also really like that the ball ends are colourless/copper, which makes a better look on my wraparound bridge. I like the wrapping's design :-)
They sound amazing
This strings sound amazing. Ive tried strings from a lot of different brands but non of them sound like the Ernie Ball. In the first 3 days they sound the best but even after 3 weeks they still have the clarity that you would expect from a set of quality strings. The gauge is the perfect balance between the 11s and 9s. The 11s sound great but for me they are to hard to bend. The 9s sound a bit to thin especially the low E.
Perfect strings
I use the Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings on all of my guitars. The quality of those strings is amazing, especially for this price! Ernie Ball strings are chosen by many bands, like Iron Maiden, Depeche Mode and the Stones and are manufactured in Coachella Valley in Southern California.
They last much longer than any other brands and they stay in tune longer than any other strings. I've been trying to find better ones, and there are no strings that are better than those! They are great for distorted sounds, but the clean sound is amazing too. Bending this strings feels great. Highly recommened!
Fine strings..
The string that's made for modern guitar.
Regular Slinky Electric Strings are Ernie Ball's top-selling set and are favored by many musicians around the globe. Regular Slinky wound strings are made from a nickel-plated, steel wire wrapped around a hex-shaped, steel core wire. The plain strings are made of specially tempered, tin-plated, high-carbon steel, producing a well-balanced tone for your guitar.
All Ernie Ball strings are precision manufactured to the highest standards and the most exacting specs to assure consistency, optimum performance, and long life.
Ernie Ball is a pioneer of rock and roll guitar strings. Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Steve Vai, and Slash are among the long list of Slinky players........
Good strings for low money
When you start playing the guitar you have to think about which strings you buy for the case you need new strings. The Ernie Ball were the first strings I ever bought. compared to other strings I am now now using, they don't sound as good as the others, but for this price, the sound is very good. Also the sustain is very good. So I can say that the Ernie Balls are good strings for beginners and advanced players.
My favorite strings
these strings are great for overdriven rhythm playing or high gain lead playing.
not the best for clean tone but i guess i like DR more for clean tone on a strat.. just makes the "strat" tone better than ernie ball for that specific reason.
these strings really do last much longer than normal strings so if you're a hobbyist and play in your room by yourself most of the time than these strings are best.
Can't go wrong with these strings for the price. Use them for my electric guitar for years and really happy.
These are top notch!!
My personal favourite ..
I have been using EB strings for the last 10 years on all of my guitars. They have never disappointed me. I'm using the .010-0.046 gauge set on my 24.75" guitar for standard tunings. The quality is superb, I cannot even remember when the last string broke. I like the sound of EB strings, its very balanced but still has a certain clarity to it.
First Ernie Ball's I've had
Regular Slinkys.. Nice tone in all, they last for a good time, haven't broken in very heavy bending use although I mistreat my gear a lot. Nice for rock and heavy playing.
Fantastic strings - Awesome value
I recently installed these on my PRS guitar and they sound fabulous!
Ernie Ball already have a great reputation and these do not disappoint. I am currently trying to find the best string for my needs and I think I have found them.
Highly recommended
EB 2221
Ernie Balls have been the choice of a lot of musicians for quiet a while now, and not only because of it's price. The strings offer a warm, full sound, which is very balanced and brings out the personality of each body, wood and pick-up.
The strengh of the strings fit for E-Tuning to Drop D, lower tunings might have trouble with floppy strings
