Better than expected!

I think Ernie Ball 2226 Burly Slinky is an excellent choice for standard D / Drop C tunings and allows you to play very comfortably at all registers. Although Ernie Ball 2226 is not a coated string set and not so pricey, I was pretty surprised how it has been holding the initial spark and not getting rusty right after I started playing (especially on the top strings). It’s a very popular guitar string set that has received 4.8/5 out of 185 user reviews and ranked in 14th position among hundreds of competitor models and brands in the 11 gauge string category! I believe this tells a lot about how confidently this product is standing out. Happy to purchase this and can confidently recommend anyone who is after an affordable yet durable one with superb playability for standard D and drop C tunings!

My favourite

I use these strings for years in my "metal" guitars and I love it. No bad comments about it.

Maybe the best in the game

These strings have been a top choice for players of all types since the early '60s. The strings are made from nickel-plated steel wire wrapped around a tin-plated, hex-shaped steel core wire. Compared to "usual" gauges, these are made to deliver a fatter tone with increased tension when soloing (this just means that the strings are bigger).

Let's talk about what you want to know : compared to the standard D'addario, the Ernie Ball are cheaper and last as long (I would say a little bit longer, but maybe that's me). So this is winner for me.

Good strings for D standard

Good strings for the price. I'm using them as a "everyday" strings, for the album recordings (and gigs I guess) better Daddario NYXL.

Also 11-52 feels perfect for D standard tuning on B.C. Rich for my taste, but to some of you the tension may seem a bit weak.

Thick

These are just strings, I use them on all my E Standard guitars... If you're like me and got big hands you'll be good. Plus you can really hit em and they'll stay in tune

its anything you would expect from an ernie ball pack.

for a 25.5 scale you will get amazing drop C stability. with a bit looser feel for bends. exaclty what i need

Works nice on my Gretsch single cut

Personally, I like a guitar sound without much middle since it can wash out vocals in the same range. The combination of these strings with my Gretsch single cut is golden. Pure vintage sound with just a little reverb! Ow!

Le standard

un standard

Simple, pas très chère,

Attention non coated , donc si tu aimes changer souvent de cordes pour mettre des neuves alors ceux la feront l'affaire§

Le son est bon, tenue d'accord est bonne

Perfect for downtunning

Very good string for downtunning. Also works great for standard tunning. Nice and chunky.
