Good light sound

I don't know how to describe exactly, but they have this light, puffy sound. Not ear soar bright or boringly midrange. They have a specific sound, very good. Good at fingerpicking, strum, solo, slide. I would suggest to anyone. I've played some dull sounding and some to "specific" but these are a nice interesting sound not loosing the template for a good acoustic tone.

I bought 3 sets of these strings mainly for two reasons.

1st, I use Ernie Ball 2004 Light set and the sound and playability is superb.

2nd, this set has a plain G string, not wound, which allows to fast change 3 strings chords without the usual squeak that wound strings provide. I was curious about that.

Well, yes, but the plain G string in this set detunes massively just for applying more pressure or just going up the neck. It's the only string in this set to detune.

When you go to the octave G on the 12th fret, you get almost a G#.

It's a pitty because the sound is pretty neat, good sustain, but detuning like that is not playable at all. I did test it for a while and could confirm - the G string on this set is very sensitive to pressure and goes up out of tune easily. The B and E stings, also not wound, stay in tune.

Back to the light 2004 Ernie Ball set with the wound G string.

Great sound and does keep in tune. Have to live with the squeak.

An excellent choice

I have been buying these strings for years, they arouse a strange sentiment, I like their very clean sound. They also have a long lifetime.
